i give detailed description later
hoek.jpg

i am thinking to build the smaller of the two.
my wife already gave a green light.
no wonder, i just told her that my current speakers can harm the children.
i now only use tannoy sensys dc1. a nice litle speaker with a reasonable sound
but very light weight and standing on stands of 90CM.
if the kids pull the cable the speakers whill fall.

so, the complete plan.
the sub in the corners and two three way omniderectionals hanging from the ceiling.

:cop: epa, this forum is an English language forum. Please see forum rules. If you're going to write in Dutch, you need to also provide simultaneous English translation.
oops sorry
translation:
it is a little diffecult to see how the corners need to be cut.
in autocad it is easy to see.
example 0f 1 pannel included.
is this clear enough like this?(maybe with the help of the drawing above)
btw where do you live ?

Hi Epa.
it is clear enough.
i do have autocad, but i know nothing about how it works :(
would love to learn one day, but for that i would have to break my legs or something, otherwhise i just keep on building.
at this moment i a working on Aleph-5 mono amps with partly natural stone housing.
heavy critters, 35 killo each ;)

i live between Emmen and Stadskanaal.

A lot easier to build and better performance

My rotary subwoofer goes to below 1 hz and is
good up to 25 hz!!!! Can move a open door .5"
between 1 and 5 hz; truly awesome. Matches
the impedance of the air at these very low frequencies.
Try building a horn that goes down to below 1 hz.

The enclosure for the Rotary subwoofer

Wow! Did you build the unit that modulates the fan? What kind of db is it produce?

I built the enclosure for the rotary subwoofer, which included
modifying the floor for the opening. The rotary subwoofer is
Eminent technology TRW-17, designed by Bruce Thigpen. There
have been numerous diy builders that have been trying to build
a rotary subwoofer, but no one has been successful so far. The
amplifier for the rotary subwoofer is designed by Marchand
Electronics, with input from Bruce Thigpen. This small amplifier
is rated at 200 watts and is used to modulate the fan blades.
The real power comes from the ac circuit that rotates the
fan motor, and the rotary subwoofer will produce over 110 db at 5 hz!!!

That is absolutely fantastic. I only wish we didn't rent this house, I'd love to build one or two of those.

One question though, after a few days, do you have to turn up the volume and blow all the dust up out of the vent before you invite people over to walk dinosaurs?

how large does the chamber behind the fan (aka your basement) need to be in order for the rotary sub to work properly?

Is Eminince LAB 12 an ok driver for this type of horn? I was planning a Labhorn but I am want to reach lower than 35Hz.
A Lab 12 would work well, but folding a bass horn is a far more efficient use of lumber than a straight horn.

Back in 1922 Magnavox built a horn that makes the "12-meter-hoyttaler-fra-laven" look like a toy :D.
