300w per channel amp build

A few years back I was asked to build a slave amp for the local studio say about 300 watt per channel..so looking about the pile of odds and ends for a case and transformer/heatsinks etc.. I began to toy with a few idea of how things should look knowing the amplifier would be in daily use so it needed to be robust.

I could see the circuit in my head, so grabbing pen and paper whipped things up in half hour or so..things like fail safe ie short circuit proof plus relay cut off and trip cut off in case the cooling fan stopped working and things over heated.

In the end things turned out ok for a amp born out of things laying about in the spare parts box.. so here it is doing over 350 watts in to 4 ohms and no clipping.

Its still in use daily:)

small, but powerfull amp

I saw a case, including two quite large heat sinks on Alibaba.com lately. As it cost nearly nothing, I gave it a try, and bought one. VERY nice!!
I designed a small yet powerful amplifier lately, which is quite universal and simple. This design has been applied to numerous other projects in the past and sounds very good indeed. So, here we go: take a few of those fine 2SA1095 / 2SC2565 ringemitters, build everything nice and clean on the heat sink and squeeze a 300VA toroid in the middle of it all. It's not ready yet, but... it won't take long I hope!
And yes, all those connectors were inclued in the price of less than $ 50,- which should be reagarded as an absolute bargain! Even the mains switch (Alps!) and the turned, massive aluminum knob for the volume pot is included! I just ask myself: HOW can this be so cheap? Of course, it's made in China ;)

New sx-Amplifier build

Here's another sx-Amp that I built this week end. I bought another case like the one I used for the nx-Amp and started assembly yesterday. Its playing now through my B&W's (Houston Person 'Mellow' - very laid back Jazz CD).

:)

The heatsinking on this case is very good compared to the old one. I'will be using the old one for a new 10W class A amp I am working on ('ux-Amplifier'). The ux-Amp is a CFA single ended input stage design with some similarities to the JLH 10 Watter - but enough of that for now.

Some pics
