The front panel is only intended to have the led holes and the blind chassis mounting holes.
The other blind holes that are normally on the deluxe front panel are not needed.

Oooo yesss! I can't commit to participating in this GB right now, but when I get to the Aleph J on my DIY project list I'd definitely prefer a 4U 500mm chassis over the other current offerings in the DIY Audio store.

Depending on final price - I am potentially interested too.

Regardless if they are going into UMS or not, i think it is a good idea to add the extra holes to this chassis.
I do not know what i will be building in the future so the extra holes may come in handy.
