Tubecad had this simplified circuit using a tube and a P channel
mosfet. I don't see any reason a 2SJ28 wouldn't make a good substitute
for that P channel mosfet. Sure you could subsitute a 2sk170 for
that 12b4 but where is the fun in that.

No. It's going to be a surprise.

:wiz:

The design for the new DIYaudio VFET kits uses one VFET per channel.

The N channel and P channel VFETs have separate artwork, and slightly
different performance.

Each channel goes onto a bar similar to last time which holds 4 TO-3
devices and mounts on the DIYaudio store heat sink hole pattern.

The output stage is a follower, and has a socket for different front ends.

Availability should be March or so.....

Yes Papa please more DIY SE amplifiers :cheerful: Kind regards

I finally have all the parts. Transistor bar holds 4 T0-3's for one channel, and the
bar fits the the hole patterns on heat sinks in the diyAudio store.

Looking at my calendar, I think I can commit to a release in January. The quantities
will be very limited due to the lack of VFETs, but those of you who have some
already can get the rest of the kit.

Has anyone found an N ch device that plays nicely with the 2SJ28 for use in a DEF amp design?

Other than matching gate voltage in order to self-bias, what would the needed parameters be? Is finding a suitable candidate simply a case of combing thousands of data sheets to find one?
