whenever you read "Babelfish" , that means Mighty ZM's unnecessary complicated iteration of Papamp ......... in this case of J2 , so it must stay secret ......... but still perfectly good for Mighty ZM's showing off

@Elwood625 - Very nice BZLS and congratulations on reaching the finish line! Truly deserves a FUGLY!
@Mighty Zen Mod - extra FUGLY! Symmetrically FUGLY too!

oh yeah , good to remind me - elwood's one is Fugly!
almost not , simply lacking "Mod" part in name , but - I can't expect everybody being perfect , as Mighty Moi

Most excellent Mighty ZM! I really like those Furutech binding posts.
Is that a 3U case?

yup, 3U
in this occasion - 100W of heat per case , pretty cool amps

regarding speaker posts - I still prefer Yore Hirschman ones , big and chunky
but , that's me

I like those Furutech because I find them easy to tighten and at the same time
I don't have to worry about overtightening.

I agree 158% - they're wonder , full with niceties ...... even Papa approved them on his PL amps ( if they asked him at all , I wouldn't be surprised to know that he doesn't care)
though - still overpriced Drek
Cojones are much more appreciated when made of Brass , than made of plastic

still beating the same bush (not that one , Singing , other one ) ........
of course that Furutech are convenient in several aspects , when looking from perspective of manufacturer
but , when looking from perspective of Cheapskate Greedy Boy ....... I can buy more than 50 pairs of these (SH of course) , for one pair of Furutechs
which one will sound better - who cares , I have green trice around my head , just thinking of it ...... and imagine them , fresh from ultrasound bath

DIY Sony VFET part 2
Pics from diy vfet part 2-build.
Separate PSU with 4-pole speakons and shielded powercord for umbilical. Most parts (except polish trafo) in PSU from dismantled fluoroscopy lab called Ignalina (because of amount of Blinkenlights, making everyone feel like Homer Simpson).
All ordinary in amplifier-case. Heat sinks are spares parts from hifi2000 (about the most economical I found in small quantities). PSU-boards from Tea-bag.
Sound is great=) Thanks for this nice amplifier!

Zennie. I also try to purchase el cheapo binding posts. At a price that seems sensible and at what it should cost (in my opinion).
Use the money where it counts, active devices, power supplies.
But the it sneaks in. The thought planted in you brain by advertisements and reviewers. Could it have been even better with the e.g. Furutech binding post? (Or the holy grounding devices of Nordost?)
Well, my stand is, of course, use your money on V-FETs and music.
Or to rewrite footballer George Best: “I used my money on V-FETs, music and wine. And the rest I wasted.”

Binding posts are the fugliest parts....
BTW many years ago I purchased some nice ITT Pomona bonding posts. Gold plated.
These tighten very well around spades. They did not cost a fortune. And they were identical to the ones used on the (mine) Levinson ML-2s.

well .... I always prefer properly Nickel-ed to lousy Goldies
not to mention properly Silver-ed , as these oldie Hirschmann are
should I ever pay - for my own use - connector more than ultrarare active part ?
no Bubba .......
always willing to pay for quality , even greater level than I really need it , but never for baloney

Nice construction, torb! Depending on heat production, you might need to make the holes in the bottom of your chassis larger. My first amp (a40) has an entirely wooden chassis and I perforated the bottom with holes that ultimately needed to be made larger so air would actually flow. I also had to put a spacer under the top lid for more airflow.
Are those speakers a Troels Graveson quarter wave design?
