got it, will try it on my Zen acousta 2.
Thanks
Did you ever make Zen Acousta 2 with the mods we discussed 6 years ago?
If you add an 8 liter volume x 6 in deep driver chamber connected to the main horn (at same location) with a 2.5 in dia hole through 0.5 in thick plywood that connects the chamber to the horn, you can extend the bass down by about 10Hz and smooth out the response somewhat. This is with Alpair 12.3P. I think the Alpair will be less bright and more balanced than Lowther, and less expensive too
Yep, good friend enjoy some music, we have a good time.
had been build last year, but some crack at sandwich panel due to the weather temperature and humidity change.
still making another with plywood

Hi KoHo, I notice you have reversed the curvature at the throat end of the folded horn?
What difference does that make, if any...?

Two things I modified
reversed the curvature at the throat,
use high quality harder multi plywood.
mid and lower frequence faster, tight and clean
and style look cool😊

Hi!Hi
Thank for suggestion, I'm using cotton rope now, will try rubber bands.
Swing at very low cycles....2-3 Hz!!!Absolutely good suggestion as my turntable sling setup.
The reason why the wooden disk outside, because of the front loading horn.
KoHo,can you please give plans for front loaded horn?
I have Dallas II with Fostex FE206EN and i would like tu upgrade them with front horn,to gige them liglle juice to the midlle range.
If you do the math you will gain nothing, the driver is too big to support a front horn.
Do you have phase plugs in the FE206En??

No,i still didnt install them, but its a plan to do so.
You think its better to start with phase plugs and see what will be?
Now after some time of listening dallas,im lacking cleariti in mid range. High mid i would say.
In few week i get pair of Raven 2 ribbons so i will put them inside Dallas instead of monocor bullet wich i have now.

So with Raven 2 i also expect big improvment on high mid and high.
And if driver is to big for front loaded horn, why then you can buy horns for 800+€ for 8" driver? Is realy cat in the bag or there is some benefit from them?

Phase plugs make a significant difference.
Adding an XO might bring more pain than joy.
There are other tricks you can do to tame the FE206 issues.
If you look at a front horn for this box you will find that maybe you can get a horn a few cm deep at best. More a tiny waveguide than a horn.
