Your contribute to Audio evolution

I’ll add the designer(s) of the NE5534 to the list wherever they may now be. Seems it was some talented individual who beavered away in a back room at Signetics leaving the glory to others.
I believe that this happens much more than you may imagine in every part of world, in one way or another.
It is as if it were a kind of destiny of some people, or sometimes even a will...

was it designed at signetics in the USA or at Philips who owned them by that point?
I rooted around on this subject a few yrs ago, and we discussed it way back and the consensus was it was done in Signetics.

However, the consensus might be wrong as there was no documented proof to be found. Might be the team at that stage was part of Philips, but the design was the ex-Signetics people.

We will never know.

Or he would have been fascinated, nobody can say about that.

In my opinion not necessarily one should be only pleased by things similar to himself or only by things one is able to understand and therefore similar to his way of thinking and/or to view the things, indeed sometimes the exact opposite can happen...

Please note that really I do not know about the following, but I love to believe that great men just think as great men and that this small detail could make a difference between men.

Just sayin'...

Peter Snell was one of the greatest loudspeakers designer in the 70s.

Founder of Snell Acoustics he introduced two innovations: low-diffraction hand-crafted cabinet and crossover production within 0.5db in paired loudspeakers with accurate off-axis response.

Gorgeously sounding loudspeakers!

Whoever has/had them or even only listened to them knows what I'm talking about.

Hi,

Whether you are an enthusiast, a technician, or an engineer, a physicist, or a mathematician, a brilliant designer or a simple listener of your favorite Music which was/is your contribute to the evolution of Audio?

As very few have answered this part of the original questions: I've come up with a way to apply a 1976 integrated circuit technique to almost discrete class AB power amplifiers, with a simple way to calculate MM phono amplifier noise, I've helped to make a 1939 technique that can be used to reduce phono amplifier noise slightly somewhat more popular and I've designed one of the weirdest audio DACs.

Edward Heath, the founder of The Heath Company, and its subsequent owner, Howard Anthony who created the first Heathkit in 1947.
As a kid, I learned soldering and the resistor color code from a Heathkit manual.
Their contributions got me started on an audio hobby and a career in electronics.
My contributions pale in comparison.

Thank you very much for breaking the ice! 🙂

My personal contribution has been getting out enuff drawings of loudspeakers 9mostly single driver) to help greatly expand the range of options for diyers building speaker boxes. When i started out in FR about y2k we could find maybe a dozen. Now just look.
Great sharing that I liked so very much: thanks both of you so very much!!

I believe both your contributions belong to the progress of Audio in a different still singular way which arises from curiosity and intuition and dedication as well as by an oriented technical preparation, at least this is my view...

Thanks both of you for posting. 👍

This image of William Cowan's Synergy has “holey braces” something i have been promoting and using for a long time. I did not see them before but they are now appearing in more and more builds. Makes me feel good.
