Hi
I tested firmware today
One question I've got: why only +10db?
Datasheet says that +31.5db max should be.
Danzup, can you fix it please?
Thank you.
I have limited to +10dB because if you do the math when you have on input a CD-player which usually have over 2V on output you will have big distortion because you overshoot the analog power voltage on PGA ( the soft I am using in one of my preamplifier I have build I use limit to 0dB !!! because +10dB tend to be to much) .
But if you want I can rewrite again the soft to reach the 31.5dB !
( Are you sure you want that ? )
---------------------------
Later edit : I have done what you asked about , here is the soft.

Hi
I'm going to use passive preamp.
It means signal slackening by 10...20dB. That's why I want to control full PGA2310 dynamic range.
You were right when you said about CD-player with 2v output. 3 years ago I made DAC on CS8416&CS4391A for CD-ROM and I have 1.98v output on it. But in any time I can make volume lower.
Thank you danzup for PCB layout.
I already made my PCB.
Thank you again for the soft and for your help🙂

Hi
Thank you danzup for soft - I compiled it with no error.
Perfect!
🙂
I have a favour to ask of you to add last feature to this beautiful preamp controller - balance control.
Without balance control we have perfect device. But with balance control it will be brilliant!!!
Can you add this feature please?

Hi Danzup,
Are you selling the kit? If you do, how much?
Thanks,
Joe
kit would be sweet!
kit would be sweet!
As you read in this thread I have done by the years a lot of type of controller :
- volume with specialized IC like PGA 2310 , 2311 , 4311
- volume with alps potentiometer and motor (like blue velevet)
- volume with R/2R resistor attenuator (R/2R ladder )
- volume with shunt type attenuator
- volume with TDA7318 etc.
I have only kit for R/2R type volume/attenuator and for alps motor potentiometer .
For the rest I have posted schematics , pcb , firmware and I will provide support .
If in the future will be more than 10 request I will provide more kit.
It will be help if you say what kit would you like !

Danzup,
Since I have no idea on which of this controler to pick, which one do you recommend if I want the best of your design? My needs is the one that can be used with universal remote, display and four inputs?
Since you have the r/2r kit, how much is the complete kit including shipping to U.S ? Where can I find the details of r/2r?
Thanks,
Joe

( price for : kit r/2r atmega16 / 4 input without transport to USA is 53 euro , please any other info in pm )
But if you do not like the fade and discrete mechanical sound of relay (this do not propagate to speakers ! ) this is not for you !
In path of audio signal there are only at max attenuation 6resitors and have the most transparent sound of a passive preamplifier .
Hi!
I,m building tube preamp FVP (Allen Wright) with 4 CCa Telefunken
tubes .I have Alps motor poti with controler ,but will also remote
sources. So I m intersted on your kit ,or only programed IC .I ,m
only analog guy and have no skills in digital el.I have some questions
1: is posible to progam 30 -40 sec delay function ( tube warm up)to operate relay for B+
2: analog to that function output mute -when B+ for tube is on
output is on -gnd on output is enabled.
3: duo led aded for status -warm up -red ,operate -blue
What is price for kit with that functions?
Thanks

Yes all of your idea are possible and already implemented in one of my tube amplifier !Hi!

On LCD it will appear : " Warming up tube !" U anodic is off and mute is on , and after 60 seconds it will say " Ready !" in this time mute will stay active and only after U anodic is connected the mute relay will be released .
If you do not want to use a LCD please tell and I will provide schematics for led only on front panel .
An atmel AVR programmed with firmware will cost you without transport 5 euro .
For kit : I have an kit with pcb etched on-house using toner transfer technique with 6 input to select , cost without transport : 50 euro (schematics and pcb posted here on first page
1. Volume controller / source selector for motor potentiometer ( like Alps blue velvet ) : )

3. Control and audio source selection with relay and r2r volume
- volume with quality MELF resistors for r2r or shunt adjusting
- infrared remote control in the stop / start amplifier
- selection from 4 sources of signal relays
- display with 16 x 2 or 20x2 LCD
- switch and encoder for selections
Firmware for this project (the .bin and .hex files ready for programming the atmega16) .
You must also write 2 fusebits in atmega16 :
- Jtag disable
- Internal 8Mhz RC oscillator

Hi
Last weekend I soldered RC5 controled passive preamp with danzup source code from
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/anal...controlers-source-selections.html#post1907172
and with schematic from
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/atta...trolers-source-selections-ctrl_attiny2313.jpg
I used 2xATtiny2313 and changed source code for both.
One of ATtiny2313 uses for amplifire switching on/off and basscontrol.
Other ATtiny2313 uses only for treble control. It turns on when amplifire is on.

Congratulation !
And Pryanick : I like those MLT resistors , give so sweet sound !
I will post some time soft and schematics with one atmega16 with r/2r 6 relay for volume and 7 relay for bass and 7 relay for treble controller (exactly like your but extended for 7 relay each tone control : bass and treble for 0dB in the middle and -5dB, -10dB ,-15dB and +5dB , +10dB , +15dB on both ).
It was made by me in year 2007 but never posted ....
here the schematics :
