Hi Folks,
For those of you who have bought XO kits and interested in a nice XO PCB, member Bloqhead has graciously volunteered to do a group buy for a XO board that he laid out. He will handle all aspects of the GB and we will do the signup here in this thread though.
This is what it looks like populated. A big thanks to Bloqhead! Boards are 2mm thick, 2oz copper, ENIG finish - very stout and beefy with wide traces and via stitched ground plane.

XSD XO PCB (by Bloqhead) GB interest list (only people who have bought the XO kit can sign up). Cost is TBD by Bloqhead but my guess is that shipping and nominal manufacturing costs for larger 2mm thick 2oz copper with ENIG is about $20/pair. Shipping is typically $8 in CONUS, $17 CAN, and $23 everywhere else.

Thanks for getting things started up X! Bit of a late start for me today 😉

A few things to go over with everyone. I want to be as transparent as possible with everything.

  1. You may notice there's no electrolytics on the PCB, the large cap in the upper right is multi-footprinted to also fit the supplied bipolar electrolytic cap, and the same value Audyn Q4 cap.
  2. Right now the PCB only fits the "big cap" option, but for those that did not choose the big cap I will be creating a second board to fit the Dayton MKP cap later this evening.
  3. Boards would ship via USPS from the Minneapolis MN area (55428 zip code) to help you estimate potential shipping costs. Assuming all boards are the same (2mm, 2oz, ENIG), we are looking at 0.67 lb's for a single board, or roughly 0.45 lb for a pair.
  4. I've always used JLCPCB and they have been good to me, but I am happy to use other PCB companies if anyone has suggestions. Bear in mind that the ground planes are stitched together with ~2700 via's and JLC does not charge extra for those.

I will be doing this at cost, just to give people an idea of pricing from JLC. When choosing green PCB color, 2mm thick, 2oz copper weight, 1u ENIG finish, the following pricing is what I see. 5 boards - $94.80 ($18.96/board), 10 boards - $123.60 ($12.36/board). This must vary day by day as I ordered a set of 5 boards on August 29th and paid a few dollars more than today's quote of 5 boards.

I currently have 1 pair of boards available from my personal order if anyone is interested let me know.

@wagnju I'll work up a board this evening for the Dayton cap as I don't see you going with the big cap option in the thread. I'm not sure if the Dayton cap will work on the board as is, but as X mentioned pin pitch on the big white cap is 25mm with 1mm lead diameter. I think there might be room for it to fit as is albeit probably ugly looking.
