Yeah as soon as more boards become available! 3-4 weeks seems so far away. Oh well I guess I'll be building my new DAC first.

You could start purchasing your parts so when the boards arrive you could populate them and stuff, even better. Build your chassis ? that will make time go by faster 😀
Yeah I plan on it. I'm not sure how you guys build chassis. I'm going to purchase something probably from DIYenclosures or whatnot maybe a couple of the monoblock chassis that have heatsinks.

ATI makes some really nice chassis too 😀
How much? And I don't see anything on their site about chassis? Or do you get like the modular amp without any modules?
It may give better channel separation but a pretty esoteric point. But would 2 (1 per channel) be better?
No it won'tit will have/consume more power though
No, one 18-0-18 @ 400 Va should be enough to run 2 F4's all in one box.
1 F4 (2 channels) in a box is given 300VA by Nelson
so 2 F4's in a box ( 2 balanced channels ) would optimally have 600VA no? I'll grant that 400 might work, but interested in your logic.
has anyone built the F4 revision R0 using Peter's board? (using the original power supply schematic)
Can you please measure voltage drop across the 4x .47ohm resistors?
Thank you very much 🙂

It's been way too quiet in this thread ... something's not right here

I bet the people how are finished have not left their music long enough to post, oh well

If anyone is looking for transformers for their F4 (probably best for Canadian members, ok for US members, not sure what shipping will be like for the rest of the world though), I posted a thread in the GB forum to see if there is enough interest in Plitron 300VA 18V units:

twitchie said:Oh, sorry, I made a mistake - I used Vishay for the bridge rectifiers, not IXYS
Digikey # is GBPC3502A-ND
If you want to use IXYS (more expensive), you could try the 27A-600V like the one on this page:
http://www.partsconnexion.com/catalog/semiconductors.html
I'm assuming that you're not using PD power supply boards, or are you snapping off the rectification portion and somehow mounting the Vishay bridges elsewhere?
Also, anyone decide on one of the many TL432 at digikey for PD's boards?
Thanks!
no, I built my F4 a few months back based on Veteran's pdf in the F4 thread.
I etched my own PSU boards using 8x15000uF caps and mounted the rectifiers on the back (1/4" thick alu) plate for heat dissipation. My PSU board layout is basically the same as Veteran and Peter's layout for the ZV9 (CCRCC)

hello.
did you use the same power supply as the one that with the service manual? If so, can you please measure the voltage across the resistors in the power supply?
Thank you very much
The amp boards have been reordered and should be available in 2 -3 weeks.
You can pay either now or when I receive them.
The PCB and payment info have been posted here: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=1231125#post1231125
This time, there is no limit on amp boards quantity.

How many did you order this time? I think I might pickup 7 of each board. Each amp board has 2 channels worth on it correct?
I ordered 150 sets of stereo amp boards, same as last time. If more will be needed, I can always reorder again.
I decided to come up with dedicated PS boards for F3, so I will be ordering those PCBs end of this week.

What does this board look like ? Can we see 🙂
