That it affects SQ.
What is the specific claim about it affecting SQ? That if a particular brand/model generator is powered on you can tell by the sound of the music, or what? If so, even it the generator is in the next room, even if it is in a metal safe in the same room, if its where you can't see it or hear sound coming out of it but you just somehow sense if its there? Does it have to be plugged into the same AC power, or can it run on batteries and still work, etc.?

The Japanese company Acoustic Revive had the first audiophile Schumann frequency generator, there several newer model followed, these were all reviewed by major audio rags, mostly 20 years ago or so. Thpat device generated a 7.83 Hz electromagnetic wave and was placed approximately 5.5 feet above the floor for best results. The impact on sound was reported generally to be better resolution, more presence, and greater dynamics. So jump to present day, I’ve been exploring various acoustic versions of the Schumann frequency this past week, there are quite a few on YouTube, and variations in a theme.

So I’ve had quite good results from these YouTube acoustic wave 7.83 Hz videos. my results mirror what people have been saying about the Acoustic Revuve generators. There are also a boatload of hand made Schumann frequency generators, I have two little finger size plug in the wall generators from Hong Kong, but the acoustic one, I won’t say which one, beats them hands down. So, I have a lot of questions myself. What in the wide world of sports is a-gonna on?

As I mentioned the real Schumann (the dude who discovered it) frequency exists in the region in the trough around the circumference of the Earth between the surface and the ionosphere and is an electromagnetic wave produced by lightning and electrical storms. The wavelength of the EM wave is about 25K miles.

Markw4: To be honest i don't know.
I can't get past the crystals or even the 7hz freq played back on a smartphone which change the sound quality.
The 'crystals' i was guinea pig on a test ( abx) never heard a difference, it was the same with the inked cd ( player where Studer deck through high end dacs)... outcome was the same. The 7hz played back on smartphone i did try for the fun. It was fun but i lost my time.
Now the lamp which read my mind... ok everyone is free to believe what they want but that's not for me definitely.

Like the poster says on Mulder's FBI office 'i want to believe'... the emoticon is an 'hommage' ( tribute).

how can you have an acoustic shumann wave?
Trying to determine he's talking about some 7Hz sound and calling it a Shumann frequency.

EDIT: I once heard a 5Hz sound in a pair of open ear headphones. Slowly turned down the generator frequency and it kept going low and lower pitch until I couldn't hear it anymore. Anyway, if one thinks it can't be heard, it can certainly be felt. Also IIRC around 7Hz was experimentally investigated for use as a high power sound weapon.

Btw, you guys're done beating each other up? 🙂
🙂
Since you asked and didn't get an answer, I'll reply (sorry to all if OT): please note that no one is beating anyone or being beated by anyone here and the following is one side of the tale.
All started some time ago after having taken the intellectual "defense" of a member who had been surrounded (and insulted, mocked, ridiculed and mistreated as I had rarely seen done anywhere) by a certain group in a certain thread that I later understood was considered almost like a "sacred" thread.
So, may be there was a bit of rust left between us, but not on my side as he probably thinks since after that some threads have been closed in the past due a certain behaviours, and anyway I put a stone on it.
However, until now, I still receive some provocations to which I reply although for me all the related past was already forgotten.
Please note that I don't want at all to play the role of the victim, but I'm not even an executioner.
Sometimes where civilty really lies is not as easy and visible to recognize as it seems.

Please let's try playing this straight for little while and see how it goes.

Markw4: please don't delete and rewrite your post once someone answered to you, it makes the discussion unreadable.
You just had to add 'Edit: Please let's try...' rather than deleting the prevoious sentence you posted especially as it didn't break forum rules, wasn't aggressive or controversial in my view.

...please don't delete and rewrite your post once someone answered to you...
Sorry. Didn't know that someone did answer while I was still focused on deciding what I wanted to say. Its that the forum software allows 30 minutes for editing and it often takes me that long to compose and edit a post. During that process, I don't always like what I wrote at first after I see it on the forum page and or think about it some more.

In any case there is always a chance that a post will get edited during the editing window. It may happen for any reason and before other subsequent posts are read and processed.

What I do if I want to respond to one specific part of a post before the 'quote' button appears is use the 'highlight to quote' feature. That's how I quoted part of your post even though there there is no quote button present at the bottom as of yet. Works like this:

Incidentally, this post has been edited a number of times already.

EDIT: Now I'm going to edit it again to say that although some of Geoff's claims strike me as highly unlikely to be real physical effects, I don't know for sure if I want to say something to that effect until after having looked into a specific claim a little more. The reason is that over the years I have seen too many 'objective' engineers jump to conclusions that other people are imagining things that are in reality impossible. Often the justification the engineer gives is something like, "the system can't do that, its impossible." In the instances I did investigate a situation like that it often turned out that the system could do that, and it did do it. As a result I usually tend to try not to get into saying something is impossible or make fun of it until I know more. That's not to say there haven't been some exceptions to that policy, but when there have been, I sometimes end up regretting it later.
