I’m mostly familiar with James Randi and his James Randi Educational Foundation, if that’s any help.but I’ve seen my share of skeptics, no bout a doubt it.
A certain tilt? You mean they all aren’t following the same sheep? The quote from Scientific American appears to be written with a certain tilt. Probably the Logical Positivism wiki gives a better overview of philosophy of science history relative to issues such as verification, the views of Popper, etc.

No. Tilt was a euphemistic way of saying it was revisionist history. That in turn is euphemistic way of saying it was likely something closer to historical negation. Popper wasn't in favor of logical positivism and verification, he was a critic of it. Maybe the author of the article confused Popper with Wittgenstein. You mean they all aren’t following the same sheep?

Yup, he's popularly credited with introducing falsifiability into the discussion. In this context my comment just used him as a stand-in for any knowledge whatsoever about the process and philosophy of science.Karl Popper was a PhD in Philosophy. Is that what you meant?
in the old days of hi fi shops, it was often the margin on cables that kept them in business.
Not at our shop. Belden & Switchcraft, usually mnade by Don. Exotic speaker wire was just comign to the fore. Nothign we sold was really pricey. Cobra Cable was the most exotic, but kept blowing up PS Audio power amps.

"Almost all capacitor, with little inductance. Also sold as Polk cable."
Not to mention when the conductors short together.

So it's laminated cable? Terrible to work with.
Snake oil.
“Get that goddamn thing out of here!”
I spoke (very) briefly with Mathew Polk at CED 1997, I was there promoting my sub Hertz iso stand.

Like Litz wire. Although those in the photo might have some silk or cotton wrapping on them.
Speaking of mind over matter, or extra sensory perception or maybe…
I think I might have the last one, I was a dealer for the Psyleron lamp. I make no claim regarding sound quality. It’s strictly for demonstrating…… something. Psyleron Is/was an offshoot from PEAR, Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research.
