Why are people still touting the Mullard 5-20 circuit?

I ask again. Which model was that?
The model name I really do not remember but it was made in small numbers during the 80ies. I have a dear friend in Rome who has got one, he should have the schematics too. I can ask. That's why I know it and where we made comparisons. At the time he had 3 different Radfords as they were very cheap to buy in the used market....before the tubes revival made expensive even garbage stuff.

Dave Gillespie suggested a fairly steep step filter to use with the Heyboer/Peerless and it works pretty well, ... They sound much better than with the stock compensation networks I was using, I can tell you that.
Can you post a link to this 'step filter' or a schematic with this highlighted? Can't find this in any of the links posted so far.

In my experience a zobel can affect the sound, but it can also cure a lot of ills. ;-)
If a Zobel affects the sound, it is almost certainly reducing some instability.
