Just picked up another of the PPI pyramid amps. Not bad for $66.36 shipped. Didn't know there were others besides the 75w/ch model.

Great find, I have no idea what sizes they made.

I'm thinking about reporting it to ebay as fraudulent. I sent him a message to let him know about the short size of the amp and the 30 amp fuse. I know the regular art amps were a little shorter than the .2 series as I've owned both, but that thing just looks small. Also notice how blurry the red numbers on the amp are so you can't see them clearly, and how he only has one small pic. Here was his reply:
"hmmm yea the amps are great i loved it when i had it up and running and it does read 600 on it. thanks for the concern

I smell fraud

I filed a report with ebay. Notice how the last buyer didn't leave feedback. I hope they actually investigate
Wow look at this 120385436525
I think it says '93? Not even an 80s amp. Maybe they can sell the gold out of it. (MS-275) Who says you can't get good money for a US made amp, they better start making these again.

Well yeah, I would drop my sansui in a heartbeat if I thought I could get $100 out of it. Maybe the price on the pyramids went up, looks like a few people want to cash in. Is usually the case when a bunch come on there you have not seen in a year or more. I'll be able to test mine soon.
If I only knew that this stuff would be worth money. I have had many PPI amps, old rockfords, and some orions that were the size of skateboards. I can't for the life of me remember the model numbers as I have gotten out of car audio. I have a few friends that still have some old PPIs, maybe I will have to buy them off them 😉
Would have been a bad investment though, unless you bought them used 10-15yr ago. I bought my sansui 1500 at a police auction in the early 90s it must have been young when I got it...but $35 would be worth a lot now invested....ok it would have been a year ago lol. Saw one of those old blaupunkt 5ch sell too, I wanted to bid but it has to be too small for my use. I forget who made those.
I see quite a few old amps on there all the sudden, and seem to be holding value. See the pair of nice SS D200s? There is a 4ch fultron on there who knows what those are?

Fultron was Arthur Fulmer in Memphis, TN. Typically built in Korea until the name changed to Memphis and manufactured in the US, and was garbage until then as well.
The Blaupunkt 5350 5-channel was a very nice amp. I would have bought it had I seen it (assuming that's what the auction was for). Designed by Zapco in 1988, don't know who actually built it. Zeff was just getting into the OEM market then, and according to Robert Zeff, that's what destroyed Zapco as the high-end company it had become.

5350B 93 shipped got too high for me. 250387123155 It shows a gut pic if you can tell what it is. I have an Alpine MRV-F353 that is 50x4@14v and 150x1 I almost wired into the car today, and will have to run my subs at 8 ohms so they might hardly work. Wanted to try it anyway compared to this new kicker 70x4. Not as old or small as the Blaupunkt. Blau seemed to be hit and miss, some stuff was good and some not. I have a couple old STK based amps from them, they lack bottom but work pretty nice. IIRC bpa260.
Yep, that's the Zapco model. I wish I'd seen it...
An understatement indeed!

I saw a couple 5350 go about a year ago, but I forget the prices🙁 Here is a nice 1995, I know they made good tweeters but never used a phillips amp 140306825590
Oh look some PPI amps 290302509753

The blaupunkt BMA series were the well built ones. I would have bought the one on auction but the internals looked like someone else had built it, probably mosfet outputs (not necessarily a bad thing) and I wasn't sure if it would have the sq or reliability the ones with large bipolar outputs did, considering the year it was built. Amps with mosfet outputs have advanced a lot since then.

I've got the 2 channel version of that one. It's junk.

😀 I wondered. I do have a phillips amp I forgot, but just a tiny 1" tall thing and just two 12v ICs inside...packed inside tight. Is about 4" square or so including sinks on each side. I ran it on tweeters once and it worked fine, on a small 3 way + sub system. Maybe it is a booster without the EQ.
Mosfets...not sure I've ever run one on highs. I did have an old autotek SS something with a pile of mosfets in it. I tested it and it did not have a pleasing tone IMO, though it may have worked fine on subs it was large enough. People bid on it well and off it went. Now I have an alpine 757 and a smaller one the same but not got them going yet. Kind of surprised me to see mosfets in an alpine at the time I had to go look up gut pics to make sure. I should dig those out and finish them. The old Blaupunkts I have the PS is BJT and amp is IC, I ran that pair hard for a few years. Got both of them cheap because they were not liked. They seemed to roll off in the bass, had to work around that, but they really put out for a 2x60 actually 2x80 the 2 ohms I ran them at. I never blew a 20A on the sub one but I did blow a 30A on the battery often. Wow, loud subs on a 2x60....things have changed.

Just got it today. Looks to be roughly equivalent to a ppi 2075am as far as parts count. The manual also lists a 2x50w, 4x75w and a 2x300w in adittion to the 2x75w and 2x100w models.
