I understand that A80 has the same architecture as SMSL SA300. It’s just that the SA300 is more expensive.
The PA70 samples the potentiometer resistance value through the ADC, maps it to the volume, and sets the NJW1194 electronic volume parameters through the MCU. This is an interesting design that reduces the potentiometer rotation noise.
Audiophonics told me these are identical products with just different model numbers.
Product model obfuscation/confusion sadly not uncommon with ChiFi products.
Wouldn’t the distortion increase since tone and volume control is happening via a second chip instead of within the DAC.
If the volume chip was Muses72320 or PGA2320 than it’s a different thing.

Look at the TPA3221, it sounds very good and I prefer it to several 3255s that I have tried. The distortion rates are higher on the other hand.
I have the Dual FR amplifier. Doesn't seem to be available on AliExpress, unless you find the PCBs alone.

That looks very well implemented. Have you tried any the TPA3244? not very many amps using it but I just ordered the inexpensive Wondom BRU5 that uses it. Would love to try a cheap 3221 too. I don't need anywhere near the power put out by the 3255.
