My only experience in London was a 6 hour layover in Heathrow watching the tele. It was leg#1 of "around the world in a 747" back in 1988.
Most of the places posted so far are in Europe, Scandinavia, or the UK. The pictures I took are in the same area as at least one other US post in this thread......Clue: how may places can an average citizen find himself several hundred feet above a major city. There are mountains in the background, though the weather obscured many on the day we were there.

Indeed it was.
Voltaire had his own room there.
How about this?
As this has no roof,
I would have guessed Lucknow.

All the leaves are brown, and the sky is grey
I've been for a walk, on a winter's day
I'd be safe and warm, if I was in LA.......
Warm,
For sure.
Only 84°F, today, in Tujunga,
Felt like 90+
Is that Scotland Mooly - north west highlands. I seem to recognize the mountain.
It's a view of Ben Suilven from Loch Inver, North West coast of Scotland.
Indeed 🙂 and this is the picture off the web. Almost exactly the same vantage point.

I don't get it, I must be a philistine, but what a waste of.....er......everything, and they are ugly to boot.OK. Seems it's down to little old googly eyed me to give you an answer!![]()
'Men at Sea' is a 9-metre tall white monument of four seated males, located west of Esbjerg next to Sædding Beach on the southwest coast of Denmark.
KaffiMan, that looks to be a lovely winter view from Trollstigen. Summer view is even more stunning.
IMO That was "Summer view" 😀 picture taken on 22.06 this year.
Here's the next picture since Trollstigen is not the correct answer, I guess you can say it's in that general area, but it takes a bit of time to get from one location to the other.
I have more pictures that may be easier to figure out.

OK. Seems it's down to little old googly eyed me to give you an answer!![]()

Correct.
Ah KaffiMan, that gave it away.
View of Geiranger & the fjord in the background from Mount Dalsnibba.

That is correct.
Edit:
I will throw in the other pictures for good measure, one looking back and one looking further out the fjord.

In post #140, Steve suggested obliquely that it was Philadelphia.Clue: how may places can an average citizen find himself several hundred feet above a major city.
Were you on the One Liberty Observation Deck by any chance?
I got no guesses for a place that I have been to, as have thousands of other tourists. I thought it was one of the easiest to guess from my picture collection. Here is a couple more from the same place. My wife does not like heights, so this was her only venture onto the observation deck. It lasted about 10 seconds.
I know that place, but won't give it away for others. 🙂 A clue would be that it's been around since 1962.
Where and -which one- is it?
Edit: ok it doesn't seems to show the image in the links... i'm a bit dumb... how do you attach or publish yours?
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Here's one of my favourite spots in Scotland.
What's the name of the port and it's location?
I am curious about this one. I would guess somewhere in the North of Scotland, maybe on an Island, but have no idea.
Somewhere on the bay of fundy I’d guess
You would be correct.
