I didn’t include the hundreds of orchestral concerts or operas I’ve been to before and since, as they seemed to be probably off topic.
All musical events outside the home are welcome 🙂
Rock concerts, yes.So you haven't been to a single concert for at least 44 years?
I got tinnitus from a house record a DJ started after a reggae concert about two and a half decades ago. Since then I wear earplugs whenever I go to a loud concert. It would have been better to start wearing earplugs before I went to that reggae concert.
Traditional Cuban folk music (a la Buena Vista Social Club) by visiting pro musicians at a small local hall 2 evenings ago. Mostly amplified, tho the 5/6-piece band leader's trumpet needed little help. The electric bass guitar & primary drummer could have used more help tho. Still lots of fun.
I also didn’t include the hundreds I performed in ;-)All musical events outside the home are welcome
I was a symphony chorister.Wow! Sounds great - what do you play?
I was at a King's Singer's concert in Atlanta. Always amazed by their vocal talents. Each one is a great singer in his own right but they manage to blend so perfectly.
They used to feature on UK TV many years ago. Always sounded good to me, even though it isn’t my first choice of genre!
Wow! I didn't know they were still playing!
They were known as the British Beat in Australia. One of my favourite ska bands.
I have two albums on vinyl; I Just Can't Stop It and Wh'appen (their only albums?). I was into them, the Specials, Bad Manners, the Selecter and the like back in the day. All that Two Tone Records stuff was good.
*not saying The Beat were on Two Tone. I know they were on Go Feet Records.

The Eagles at the Sphere in Vegas.
At first I was are you kidding? I questioned the $350 seat for the second to the worst seats available (we were the second row from top), the day of concert. A friend joked that I could easily loose $350 playing Blackjack after a few too many Gin and Tonics, so hell, why not...
Best $$ I ever spent on ANY concert... the Sphere has 18,000 seats and 183,000 speakers in that spherical design configuration, so sonically, there no bad seats in that venue. And the overall volume was perfect - you could carry a conversation with people around you... and the light show above was freaking incredible.
Trying to get my wife and boys out there to experience it with me again. They finish up their semi weekly residency sometime in in April (?). I read that they (a publicly traded company - ticker is SPHR) are trying to build a second identical venue in Dubai....
Oh, and saw Tommy Emmanuel at University of Iowa a while back too - one of my Faves! A real Guitarist! He put on a great show!

Two concerts with microtonal music in Amsterdam on 23 March, one for 31-tone organ (31 tones per octave, that is) and one for 31-tone organ, 96-tone piano and 96-tone harp. I hadn't been to a microtonal concert in about 26 years. It sounds very peculiar.
