This evening after dinner, I decided to enjoy something different, so I was, to coin and old phrase from the 1940's, "feeling a bit gay".
So out came my pristine copy of RCA's 1964 "Dynagroove" copy of "Hello Dolly!"
And played it on my custom-restored RCA Victor console, of course.
Such an excellent musical play that must have been, I was only 10 when it came to the stage.
The richness of the orchestra, the sweetness of the singing, harmonizing, so well done!
And an excellent recording for sure.
And you can't beat that voice of Carol Channing! - RIP god bless her soul.

You have most excellent taste! Fantastic album!
Thanks! I was 17 when I bought it (1979). Took some getting used to but love it now!

Growing up my mother was the self appointed expert on music. It went a long way to poison our relationship. I regret very much that she did that. Late in life she came to regret that too.
