What was the last full album you listened to?

And then totally changing it up.

The Grateful Dead
Terrapin Station

I just love that album and the album cover!

@steve jones Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Absolutely great songs.

3rd side

All The Girls Love Alice....

Crank this up.... you need 100 watts for that one...

And then you flip it.... Saturday Night Is Alright For Fighting..

Take that to 11....

Not a single -Not Great- song in the whole thing. I'm just playing it right now... Harmony...

When that album came out, it was a HUGE HIT all over... even in Hawai'i...

I still have the original double LP I bought in '74

My bulldog is barking in the backyard
Enough to raise a dead man from his grave
And I can't concentrate on what I'm doing
Disturbance going to crucify my days
And the days they get longer and longer
And the nighttime is a time of little use
For I just get ugly and older
I get juiced on Mateus and just hang loose

This afternoon I went on a Tears For Fears tear... listening to several of their first albums...

After this... you gotta go to Don't Shoot Me I'm Only The Piano Player.

When I die, at my funeral. I might have to have a beer kegger and Elton John Music on the PA.

@soundchaser

Terrapin Station.... I got it, of course. An interesting LP. Sort a transition for the Dead. Yes, I love it too. Of course.

Dead wise, their collection is their life songs... Get Dick's Picks. Unfortunately only CDs... but awesome shows. Nothing like a long Dead Star followed by El Paso...

Right now listening to Madison Square Garden, NY, NY, 3/9/81

Out in the West Texas town of El Paso
I fell in love with a Mexican girl
Night time would find me in Rosa's Cantina
Music would play and Felina would whirl

They were in great form... just hear Jerry's guitar... the whole band... Yowza

China Cat Sunflower....

Nice Friday... thanks guys for reminding me of that music. Brings me a HUGE SMILE.

OK...

Is that a real poncho or a Sears poncho?

Live From Edinboro, PA - May 8, 1974.

I'm moving to Montana to become a dental floss tycoon.

This one came out later, in Joe's Garage.

Shaped like a UB47

OK. I'm not gonna play this one tonite... but I got the LP, Live at the Roxy

You mean if I smoke that, it's the same as this
As if I was at college?
Roll it on up!
Roll it on up!
Roll it on up!
Give me that!...

No no, the college degree is stuffed with absolutely nothing at all
You get, you get nothing with your college-degree.

Oh

Y'know, my python boot is too tight
I couldn't get it off last night
A week went by, and now it's July
I finally got it off
And my girlfriend cry
"You got stink-foot!
Stink-foot, darlin'
Your stink-foot puts a hurt on my nose!
Stink-foot! Stink-foot! I ain't lyin'
Can you rinse it off, d'you suppose?"
Here Fido! Fido!
C'mere little puppy, bring the slippers
"Arf, arf, arf!"
Heh heh heh... sick

Spirit: The Adventures of Kaptain Kopter and Commander Cassidy in Potato Land.
Certainly part of the experience of this album was reading the comic book it came with...

^

In late '81 I got off at LAX for the first time.

What did I hear?

The Central Scrutinizer.

No kidding, I think Zappa recorded it there.

"The White Zone is for Loading and Unloading Only"

I almost fell on on my butt laughing my head off.

While Stinkfoot, Live Erie, PA, November 12, 1974 plays on.....

Oh, I saw them live in Seattle in Winter of '80, after Joe's Garage. One band, no warm up, no break... three hours non stop. The best rock concert I've ever experienced....

Oh. Son Of Orange County.... ( I live in The OC... ). On right now.

Zappa was an absolute legend, in every sense of the word. The layers of humour he wove through his music were completely unmatched by anyone else. There was a smokeshop not far from where I grew up called "Zircon Encrusted Tweezers".. said it all about the place really.

yes.... indeed.

The Boys in the crew,
Have a present for you.

It was awesome.... live in Seattle... most of the crowd were sort like bikers, we were college kids, 21, but we were higher than they were.

I mean, like, choose your weapons.... no one was drinking...

I was dancing with this biker chick... her old man turned around, look at my, I smiled, he realized I was higher than a kite... smiled back, gave me a thumbs up... turned around

It was a great karma show... Zappa really put out great vibes and fantastic music... and he was soooo funny.

Zircon Encrusted Tweezers indeed. ;-)

Whenever I listen to Zappa I can't help smile, dance and feel really happy.
