Grotesque Rescue by FAXED CD

Imagine it's 1980: The Rolling Stones fire Mick Jagger, hire brash upstart Mark E. Smith as their new singer and record one last album. This one.

"Grotesque Rescue" mashes up the music of The Stones' "Emotional Rescue" with the vocals of The Fall's "Grotesque." It works far better than it should.

It was The Hoff Test.

After a good VPI wet clean up and making sure the stylus was clean...

...The P3 and Macho 252 SIT combo (and CJ preamp) made it listenable from a strict "professional" curiosity point of view.

The music... OTOH.

An original pressing of Court and Spark by Joni Mitchell. Excellent record. I bought used 15 yrs. ago in Ocean Beach on Newport Ave. Got some good vintage lp's back then.
IIRC there are at least two overlaps in the session musicians between Steely Dan's "Aja" and "Court and Spark," those being guitarist Larry Carlton and keyboard player (with the punny name) Joe Sample. That said, those albums share a lot, in terms of vibe.

FWIW & YMMV, I have always thought of Michael Franks' "Sleeping Gypsy" as the male version of "Court and Spark." The original LPs don't cost much at all today. And, there's a substantial overlap in session musicians with "Court and Spark" there.
