of course
Ms Wenslow is likely there to keep you out of trouble and the banlieues.
... I could never get into it though (not that I watch the rugby anymore either).. All the timeouts drove me up the wall!!!
Tony.
Oh no question about it, that's a fundamental difference in the sport compared to soccer. Football evolved a very complex set of rules and strategies over the years as a result, far more like a chess game, but with 170 pound pieces. Rugby approximates it, but football truly is more complex. I don't think it's likely to attract people who didn't grow up with it, much like baseball. There's a bit of novelty value to the "show," but I'm not as optimistic that football could ever be a popular sport in most of the rest of the world.
yes from the various tid bits I've gleaned from movies I would agree that it is much more strategic and complex a sport, and I think the comparison to a chess game fits nicely 🙂
Tony.
Now chilling out with a glass of red relaxing and hoping that there are no post incident reviews coming up tomorrow as a result of tonights password changes...

Plane leaves at noon. Flying to Paris, so no Chunnel. I haven't actually had to speak French for some years, so this will be an adventure! Cynthia, of course, is relentlessly monolingual.
Don't worry, I packed your Norden.😀 We're trying to fit two bottles of California wine into the suitcase- I give that a 50/50 probability.
I think trying to bring Ca wine into France could be construed as an official act of war 😉 . I'll look you up in prison.

It used to be said that Rugby Football was a game for toughs played by gentlemen whereas Soccer was a game for gentlemen played by toughs!
That distinction ceased to exist many decades ago!!!

you boyz ruined perfect off topic thread .... mentioning all these high heels/nail polish/braces .....

On topic: Listening to Cassandra Wilson's Blue light 'till dawn. Don't mind some of this female vocals against minimalist percussion/acoustic stuff. Though some of it is crap. Don't know what the musicians were smoking on that track Estrellas. And Cassandra has a tendency to mumble - a real contrast to Nnenna Freelon, who I had playing earlier.
Wilson is best when singing covers. Love that resophonic guitar in I can't stand the rain, besides the fustrating restraint.

I had a friend who played semi-pro rugby in France ask me, "I saw zees movie 'Any Geeven Sonday' at ze ceeneema. Ees thees really the way American football ees? Zat ees moch too violent for me!"
Zinedine Zidane should have talked to that guy.
😀
I peel potatoes just now.
I am thinking though meanwhile.
I cannot turn my brain off unfortunately.
Maybe with a revolver.
What did we get from the new world?
And what we gave to it into an exchange?

Me too! Opened a 1988 Calon Segur, the bottle does not make it around the table anymore without some restraint. The ravages of time. 🙂
