Somebody once said there are only 3 significant numbers in the universe: 0, 1, and infinity. That is, for any imaginable phenomenom, it is conceivable that it doesn't exist (0 instances), or that there is a single, unique instance. But of you can find 2 of anything, then there are probably a lot more...
E.g., if only 1 audio system can get replay right, it may be unique - but if the trick is managed twice then there is a good chance ... ... 😛

a lot more =/ infinity

Nothing to add yesterday, and today has just started...
The more I read about Alfred Einstein, the theory of relativity, 'c', and the universe; the more I expand my particle of knowledge.

That's why the global population needs a ceiling.
200 million per country or something like that.
183 million of them idiots more??? No thanks.😀

Infinity disqualifies as a number. It's a concept.
About the Netherlanders are them 17 or 18 millions?
About them I know people of this country are to reliable, probably most of dutch I knew, are.
That's true, infinite not could be a number is a concept, needed. But not defined.

Of course, in the formulation I gave the original author used "infinity" in a practical sense, meaning "a number without practical limit". In other words, once we found one other star with orbiting planets, we could conclude that there are more of them beyond counting (and for the pedants: no, I do not mean that the number of stars with planets is not countable in the mathematical sense).
However, infinity is no more a concept than any other number. Aleph-naught is a number; it is the cardinality of the set of natural numbers and is an infinite countable cardinal.
'e' and 'pi' are quite important numbers too.
When we speak of 'infinity' we need to say which one. Mathematicians find it quite easy to demonstrate that some infinities are bigger than others.

About the Dutch (nearly 17 mio)... Indeed some of them are capable to reach out to the world. A lot of them are basically nice people incapable to understand higher concepts. In that Dutch society does not differ from other societies. With regard to that fact I made my statement.About the Netherlanders are them 17 or 18 millions?

You guys reached out to Asia very well, I have seen quite a lot of Dutch architecture here.
There is a lot of Dutch art in Japan, the Dutch had a large influence there.
I loved the Sino-Portuguese architecture in Phuket.

I liked the Netherlands when I visited there, and I found the people very friendly and outward-looking, unlike, say, the English, who are more inward-looking (even insular). I think that is because the Netherlands has the sea on one side and Germany on the other. They could either look outward to the world, or speak German. 😀
Indeed... for many ages the Dutch were Japan's only connection to Europe: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DécimaThere is a lot of Dutch art in Japan, the Dutch had a large influence there.http://www.remotelands.com/blog/index.php/category/architecture/
I will try this universe question again.
If the universe was 100 metres wide and it is expanding, later it will be 200 metres wide.
If the diameter is 200 metres and we start at the centre and we walk 200 metres in one direction, we arrive once again at the centre, apparently.
So did it expand or not, well it expanded from 100 metres to 200 metres.
What did it expand "into"? Well, I take it nothing, or a different dimension, since we can't walk into that other dimension.
So it's expanding into a different dimension, then. Well, that is the way I see it anyway, IF the universe is isotropic.
"The most distant light of all, cosmic microwave background radiation, is isotropic to at least one part in a thousand."
Source: https://www.princeton.edu/~achaney/tmve/wiki100k/docs/Copernican_principle.html
So, from all the reading I've done online, all I can figure out is we statistically assume we are not at the centre of the universe, i.e. that it is isotropic, to chances of at least 1 in 1000.
I take 1 in 1000 from that link, but this number might not be correct. Statistics are tricky.
The next question is, are we the only intelligent civilization in the universe?
Well, if we are, we better colonize Mars and Venus before another Tunguska Tunguska event - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia happens.

Your link takes me to this

Perhaps the internet is confused.

I think its impossible to really know what is the universe, if we really know what is out there in reality. I think we really have to be careful into believing what our sense tells us, but its the only way to know the universe (threw our sense), therefore I think everything we think we know should be reevaluated and not taken too seriously nor get too caught up into trying to understand it all.
I believe in infinity. I see infinity all around me constantly. infinity of insects/ animals/ life, or life disappearing and reappearing, infinity of space, infinity of consciousness and theres also probably infinity of happiness available and infinity of suffering that is all happening simultaneously. Every phenomena that happens at the same time is probably infinite all the time. Every life is finite, but we are part of something that is probably infinite. Its even impossible to know what our consciousnesses really is: Is it really finite or infinite.

Metaphysic is another science dude.
We are talking about finites things like the universe.
Axiomatically. If we are here we are finites.
