On a side note, Ring-a-Ding is a (binary) numeration system created by professor emeritus at Smith College, Jim Henle.
A ding (a dot) counts as 1. But anything inside a ring (a circle) is doubled. A ding inside two rings is doubled and doubled again.
If you multiply 6 by 7,
replacing the dots in 6 with 7’s,
insist that the curves are all nested and also insist that no more than one dot appear in any region, you'll end up with the numeral for 42¹,
which looks like this:

There's an episode of the old Twilight Zone called Ring-a-ding girl. It's pretty excellent, far out coming home [not] for Christmas type stuff.
The room that I work in can be quite quiet; I sometimes take advantage of this by turning off the radio, sticking my BIG ear defenders on, and listening to the blood rushing through my ears and slight tinnitus; perhaps at dinner time, I should cover my eyes as well.Apparently, if you put someone into a totally silent Anechoic Chamber and remove all light it only takes 15 minutes for 'the average person'
to start hearing things, and thereafter to start to see things > leading to full-on hallucinations and extreme anxiety/distress.
I find this quite interesting 😎
Reading the last few pages I was reminded of how we became the way we are.
We are here with our propensity to try to improve ourselves, to get more toys, to try to be better/on top of others, because we evolved that way.
Apparently, being the way we are improved our chances for reproduction.
I know there's more to it - for instance, altruism improves the survival of the group/tribe, so even altruism has an egotistic angle, if not for the induvidual, then for the group.
Look at socialist stuff, helping the poor, is in the basis just self-interest in disguise.
Deep down everything is egotism.
