What are you Watching?

I grew up with Jean Richard as Jules Maigret on Belgium TV.
(Flemmish BRT channel, French original series with Dutch subtitles, parler d'OÙ in middle school )

Maigret, c'est dejá, eeh ?
(où c'est un must, Atkinson as Maigret (May Grey, according to the British) is somewhat embarrassing, imho)

Debate is on in 3 minutes. We will watch about 10 or 15 minutes.

Enough fodder there for several weeks of blogger bloviation and the perpetual talking heads soap opera - somehow can't help but think about "The Brink"

Also just finished season 2 of "Ballers" - no apologies for giving it two thumbs up. I always suspected that Dwayne was a bit more than just beefcake, but Rob Corddry was the big surprise. These guys must really love the freedom afforded by HBO.

chrisb, WW may be too earnest, but it's story arc is certainly taking a rather bizarre turn. "Do androids dream of electric sheep?" Apparently not...and the long term 'guest' in black certainly has some habits that makes him someone you'd rather not share the experience with.
Certainly makes a great case for the pitfalls that may lurk in AI, as benign as one could hope it could be....now that we have objects available that are listening to us...all the time...

"Hey, Siri. What do you think I should do for my wife's birthday?"

"Hold her under until the bubbles stop."

Time to pull the plug....😉

jerryrigged - it was actually the "This is Us" series on which I was questioning the earnestness

Yes, WW is a wild ride, I wonder what Michael would think of how disturbingly dark Nolan has taken this . Harris and Hopkins together are a treat to watch

chrisb....haven't seen it yet, multiple reasons why not, primarily the DVR that had it in memory just got swapped out in an upgrade. Looking to lash Something together to access it, or resort to one of the online media vendors. *whew*

From your comment, I'd suppose the story has done Something Abrupt. Goody...*G* It's fun the way this telenovela really jerks you around. *L*

I'll get back 2U on it...if only to echo 'Huh, wtf...' 😉

Papa, I've enjoyed the attention towards 'this is what we know that this could work' in terms of the depiction of the means to go to, arrive, and cope with living there. And a nod towards cabin fever and strained relationships, the harsh reality of death slow or fast.

The next 'A' ticket....only the truly committed need apply. I think I'll stand aside and join the applause for them, when it becomes real.

Have to agree, this an interesting mix of documentary, ego massage for the likes of Elon Musk, et al , and recruitment film for the future "international Mars mission team" - of which the prospects of ever gelling as such is for me is a larger fiction than any other element of the fable.
