visiting daughter and SIL in Bermuda- both have rather demanding jobs- then there's the parents 😉- so they definitely need some comic relief before they hit the sack - catching up on several seasons' ago Big Bang Theory - guilty pleasure and all, still can raise a chuckle

I have just started,
Watching the X-Files (again)...I watched it way back on TV but I have an interest.
I have started noticing plots in the series that I didn't notice first time around..🙂
I find I'm more interested in the underlying plot than the X-files..😀
Regards
M. Gregg

I've been enjoying re-watching the X-Files too. I'm wondering how many here have seen what they would call a UFO. I've seen two and it remains a baffling curious experience.
It never occurred to me, that they were UFOs.
* Last night I watched (revisited) 'The Conversation' (1974) on Blu-ray; directed by Francis Ford Coppola.
Today, we have smart phones that can detect anything in the sky, tons of applications, and that can be detected by anyone else, including our governments.
The more we advance technologically the more power and freedom we give away.
The less we say, the less they know.
And the less we all know, simpler life is.
Brief, we have all the power ourselves, and no one, and I mean no one can take that away from us; if it's true power of love. 🙂

"Grace of Monaco" (2014 movie) - by no means a great film, or historically accurate, but pretty enough, and I'd watch Nicole in almost anything
Watched "Hits" the other night. One of the most refreshingly funny and poignant films about modern Western civilization that I have seen in a long, long time.
Highly recommended!!!
Highly recommended!!!
"Bessie" - PVRed from HBO last month - more of Queen Latifah than you likely had seen before - and damn, but can she sing.

A note of caution: apparently this movie appeals to a minority of viewers.
I, for one, fully agree with the following review Hits Review
So, no more TV for anyone in the last couple weeks? ...That's good, very good; people are finally interacting more with their real-life surroundings. 😎

* Last night I revisited this, in 3D :::
And why not, after all it was hot, and that was very late Sunday night/very early Monday morning.
I laugh every time, @ the opening, before the show starts. ...And when it does start, "look @ the sky before you die". ...Like he said in his first tune.

I have started watching the reboot of Carl Sagan's COSMOS series. First episode of the new version was just great. I learned things about Giordano Bruno I never knew and once again felt the wonder and awe of creation.
indeed, the program is Neil's love poem to his mentor, Carl - with a bit of help from Ann
gotta love a couple who names one of their kids Samuel Democritus

The kids are away so my wife and I are blasting our way through some new series. We watched the entire first season of "Sense8". Wow. No holds barred sexuality mixed with paranormal stuff, thrills, spills, trans-sexuals on bikes, lobotomies, etc. etc. Quite a ride!
Now we are watching the first season of "Bloodline". Started sort of slow but it is really getting intriguing now. Great acting. The story keeps you guessing.
So far have not been disappointed by any of the Netflix Original stuff (except their sort of dull revival of Arrested Development).

"She Wore a Yellow Ribbon" -- John Ford Western w perhaps some of the greatest Technicolor cinematography of the genre.
New 20th Anniversary Edition (from a 4K scanning) ::
Better picture quality them my previous 15th Anniversary Edition on Blu.
Next will be the 25th Anniversary Edition on UHD (real 4K).
No sex, no blood, no guns, no violence, no car races, no nude chicks (tits & ***), but just big empty black space with all the drama of a technical failure aboard the space capsule, and with the mission aborted to the moon.
The new mission; let's get back to Earth in one piece.
Some Hollywood movie studios they take all their time in the world to do a decent picture transfer, and Universal studios is a big one of them.
The positive in all of that? ...We get a very late picture quality that is finally decent, and we spent more money than we should have.
The good, the bad and the ugly? You got the picture now.

Not a movie, but decades later Chris Hadfield wrote a delightful little book that included an astronaut's mantra "OK, that worked - now, what can kill me next ?"
I paraphrased somewhat
there's rather more to this guy than just that you-tube video
but I digress - so in the astronautic vein -- "... wives club" - enough to make you wish that that last thing did kill you?

Need to watch it. Read about Bruno in occult books a long time ago.

We just started it too after I managed to make a proper Optical Out connection from the Apple TV to the Optical In of the amp work (shop had sold us a defective cable by... Monster). Got new cable from a different manufacturer.
Had to find the solution to get proper surround from the net: you need to go to the Sound settings in the Apple TV and turn Dolby Digital to On, and not Auto!
So, now the sound is amazing in surround.
We like Sense8 for the multiple locations and story, but we feel the 'hook' has dragged on a bit from the beginning, and we feel like the agenda-pushing is a bit heavy-handed. Picture and sound are great though.
I also tested a few series last night, and the system sounds promising! You're immediately transported into the surround arena: Spartacus, The Musketeers, etc...
So, if you can recommend some great shows or movies with fantastic surround sound, let me know! 🙂
