What are you drinking?

A very fine ultra-smooth "cognac" from Moldova. Yes, sadly it is empty, which was not a difficult process!

My cellist (Russian step-)son has just married a Moldovan fiddle player. Not only do they play beautiful music, they also bring back some fine otherwise unobtaneum brandies and wines.

Happy New Year!

On New Years' Day we're having Gruet Brut Rose (here is a link) to accompany caviar, oysters, shrimp, and the traditional dish of black eyed peas (here is a second link)

It's quite simply the best Methode Champenoise sparkling rose wine from New Mexico, that we've ever had. Perhaps surprisingly, it is fairly popular and frequently seen on the (sometime snobby) wine lists of 3.5-dollar-signs restaurants here in California.

Mark - have we crossed paths at past Burning Amps and not realized it?

Ditto here on the black-eyed peas (currently simmering in a crock pot with some pork neck bones and some chicken stock for flavor). Instead of the exotic seafood, pan-fried corn bread, greens, and tomatoes - a frugal but healthy New Year's repast.

Edit - reason for rejoicing - I just uncovered my Diyaudio t-shirt, bought many moons ago at an earlier BA. Is this a good omen for the coming year?

Yep I was at Burning Amp 2017. I was carrying a relatively hefty backpack because I purchased nine BA T-shirts from Paul Norton: three from Y2017 and six from the remainder bin, commemorating days and years gone by.

I sat 2/3rds of the way back on the right, during Wayne C's talk. When I departed BA2017 I had the good fortune to bump into a Venerated and Right Honorable DIYA Moderator, and then gave him a ride back to San Francisco Airport. We had a wide ranging and delightful talk! 10/10, would visit again!

and there appears to be no way to chill it yet?.
The dispenser is the chiller. It's a bath system, ie: chilled as you draw it. To buy that today along with the 10 cornelius kegs we have would be a lot more than you have it pegged. We got lucky to have a neighbour moving out of town and needed to sell it.
Big glass of water and off to bed.
Hope you feel better soon. Lipton chicken noodle is not as good as the genuine 'Jewish Penicilin'.
