Bulleit Rye -- just got back from babysitting 3 rug-munchers for 4 hours. (the littlest is the easiest ever to care for!)
Looks intriguing. And good!
Its bitter but also quite soft, which is a bit unusual

I estimate the most flavourful (less bitter, more floral notes, better malt balance) serving temperature of that particular IPA to be around 16-18c, should be very refreshing still.
Had a glass of Picon Biére, waiting for my broccoli pie to be ready. Then a 1/2 bottle of rosé or pink wine.
Still trying to decide what meal to pair with a 2019 vintage of this with which we were recently gifted.
Somehow, a simple stuffed chicken and kale Greek salad seems a bit light?

Nah, at your age we understand you forgot you had already posted. If we leave both you'll surely remember at least one of them and not do it a third time.
And you know Chris ol' pal of mine. If you post a request to the Mods in a regular thread there's about a 1:5 chance one of us will see it. That's why we have that terrific 'report post' button. It's for those who forgot they posted twice... or three times.
OTOH hope all is well in your retirement. You certainly earned it. And of course a hi to the Mrs. Drop me a line sometime, we'll catch up. I only seem to have your old work email and I can't afford the 5 cents a minute to call.

The Gimp - you drink expensive wines, my Lowland Scots blood makes me bleed from the eyes if I have to pay out serious money.
By chance I hit upon a site that showcases the lesser known vineyards and I saw my favourite red wine there. Their top priced wine is €16, when this bloody virus is under control (who knows when that will be?) With my friend Jean-Luc we will visit, this wine along with others from this vineyard will last for 10 years - are you joking, apart from my age I can guarantee that no bottle will stay unopened after 10 weeks.
Barbecues - the mosquitoes are back for another year and now 58 French departments are infested by Tiger mosquitoes - a gift from Asia. Get bitten by these bitches and you can expect to have a whole arm or leg swollen for days. That's bad enough but they carry seriously bad infections. Have everyone got their electric rackets for killing mossies - great exercise but not to be used if you have become mellow - taking out the food table is not a good idea.

Ah, well, it may LAST 10 years IF you let it. That doesn't mean you'll let it. As you get older and with more disposable income, you might buy a case and put 6 bottles aside. Then someday you may buy a few cases and put THEM away. And one day as you begin to open them, you'll understand... IF you buy the right wines...
Now, I wonder what your "lowland Scots" blood thinks about Lagavulin 16 year scotch costing nearly $100 US? I LOVE it but will only buy it if it's less than $80 US. And even then I'm not happy about it. So what does it cost in France?

Carlp,
in the recovery room after an op. a senior nurse came over to find out how I was and we got to discussing malts ( the french now prefer whisky to cognac) and his favourite was Lagavullin. it is however an acquired taste as it's very potent. The 12 year old was my favourite malt, now I prefer the Japanese malts, lie a top class Spey but better.

Lagavullin is also one of my favorites. Its often seen at 80$ in Denmark. Good rum and cognac is at least the same price.
