Andrew, did you see this thread: Western Electric 1928 - How far have we come in the last 100 years?
There's at least a few more posts in there of people that have heard the big WE horns.

What do you mean by genre limitations? Spectrum? Types of music? Something else?Pano, as you're one of a few that was able to hear them live, can you tell more about genre limitations we15 has?
I have had a chance to hear a WE full system with original WE15. It's one of the best audio experience in my life, but all they played with it was old music before 60's (Maybe before 50's). I don't think they would sound good with modern music, but I don't know. Honestly, it's funny for me to compare it with modern short waveguides. It's better to listen to it before you start building (or buying) WE horns. I have no idea how good the clones are. They do "look" good, though...
Despite difficult home use why not small clubs/cinemas? I would be happy deliver to my local club/cinema but they all prefer speakers with papers/certificates.

I meant types of music
Can they reproduce progressive rock like pink floyd or big orchestra? I will not always listen classical or acoustic music

100 pages, but i think it is better than blindly spend much money
Yes, as part of a system they can do big orchestral recordings and massed choral works like no other. Also good at smaller scale recordings and giving an amazing sense of real people playing in a real space. As for Prog Rock, can't say that I remember. My guess is yes, but it may not be the presentation you are used to. For me, Rock depends on big powerful sound systems that are not natural sounding. They sound fun, but not natural - like bigger and louder than life with way more bass. 🙂
Since I would not use a horn like the WE-15A without woofers, your woofers and woofer amps could be the make or break it for Rock.
These are not horns for small rooms, I hope you realize that.

That's going to restrict them. You do want to give them room to breath and you want to sit back some.

I had a feeling that this euphonic sound of WE horn is largely due to its metal material. It's hard to imagine that the same horn made with wood sounds the same.

I didn’t expect that answer
Never thought that 40 sqm room with 3.2m ceiling Will be my limitation
Lets me ask a bit different
Can anyone show me drivers and horns that can go down to 200hz ?
So this one should perform better than squarish WE15A?
I can build WE15A if someone would like to test.
The cross sectional profile of the horn is not the issue here but rather in the length and if you use folding with reflectors (or none) and smooth bends.
Only the first part of the the throat is metal. The horn is made of plywood. I think that the double 16A might be metal but I have not seen one in person. The Vitaphone 11A is also wood - a scaled down 15A. The WE-15A and similar horns are not "euphonic" if you use them right. They are accurate and true to life.I had a feeling that this euphonic sound of WE horn is largely due to its metal material
A horn the size of the WE-15A should be part of a large system in a large room. I would suggest 70-150 square meters with high ceilings. For a smaller space then something like the Sato horn would be better suited. Although if building from scratch I would not bend it so much.
Bent I've shown is smooth?
yes the one yu posted has a smooth well rounded bend should have good extension if that is what you want.
Good day
I decided to give this project a try
It will be something like system 6 by WE
Driver will be Lamar audio m1, as every other option is much more expensive
1.45x1.45 meters horns will be definitely too large for me. So i will stop around 1 meter mouth opening.
Driver throat diameter is 18 mm, screw type( like original WE).
I need horn that is able to be crossed at 200hz.
Sato horn seems good but it is for 2`` throat. Can you recommend something suitable for 18mm thoat?

Andrew, it is not a problem make adapter for you driver. Original Sato is 100cm mouth and conical on sides. I also make my own versions which are JMLC bent horns:
Sato 60 Fc=140Hz "banana style"
Sato 140 Fc=42Hz "sato style c-shape"
Sato 60 Fc=140Hz "banana style"
Sato 140 Fc=42Hz "sato style c-shape"
Apparently, Lamar was early with carbon membranes or glass fibre? Correction, Carbon membrane with glass fibre surround!
