That's cool. Have you had the tour? I'd love to.

Getting back to music. I really do love the Corrie intro music. I am a huge fan of the trumpet. The choice of music on the show itself is great; eclectic, fun, sometimes banal... But that's reality.

If you like trumpet, may I recommend Mark Isham's "Blue Sun". Very unlike any other Mark Isham album I've run across. It is very melodic jazz. Really an exceptional album. He plays mainly in the low and mid registers, not a Bill Chase or Maynard Ferguson. It's my favorite "traditional" jazz album.
Sound is spacious, ensemble is tight and telepathic, ideas are concise, meaningful and fluent, I wish I could find more albums of it's caliber...

A bunch around here have made suggestions of favourite music...forget all that, this is THE original/definitive stoner music album.

Object statement
Record album, 'Emergency Ward', vinyl / paper, made by the Australian Marijuana Party, Australia, 1979
Statement of significance
This record is part of a collection of material donated to the museum by Ms Gwenda Woods.

Ms Woods was an Australian Marijuana Party candidate for the Senate elections in 1980 and a campaigner for the reform of legislation relating to marijuana. Gwenda Woods became a paraplegic in 1981 and used marijuana for medicinal purposes instead of other commonly prescribed drugs. Ms Woods was also an active member of the Australian branch of NORML (National Organisation for the Reform of Marijuana Laws). NORML was founded in 1970 and provided a voice for members of the public who opposed marijuana prohibition. Their mission was to "move public opinion sufficiently to achieve the repeal of marijuana prohibition so that the responsible use of cannabis by adults is no longer subject to penalty".

In addition to her involvement with marijuana law reform, Gwenda Woods was also an activist for rights for people with disabilities. She made numerous complaints to her local council and other businesses, bringing to their attention the lack of access to their premises for people in wheelchairs and with other access needs.

This material documents some of the social issues in Australia and an individual's involvement with them. The objects augment the Museum's collection of both health and medicine and social activism material and document the history of the Australian Marijuana Party and the National Organisation for the Reform of Marijuana Laws.

Information provided by Ms Gwenda Woods.

Production notes
This record was produced in 1979 as a fundraiser for the Australian Marijuana Party.
History notes
The Australian Marijuana Party started in the 1970s when J.J. McRoach ran for parliament as candidate. He had an advertising campaign funded by a well-meaning anonymous dealer. His party came fourth in the elections.

Take note of the song titles and performer names....I believe many were influential/popular at the time but had to remain anonymous.

talking about the fauxbourg in Paris

If it's not French, it has to be Faux-Bourg

On the other hand, Faubourg also sounds a bit like Fou-bourg. With La Maison de L'Audiophile departing from the rue de la Chine, not an area to frequent that often (Asian food in France S....S and is way overpriced. Even Asian ingredients in supermarkets are silly expensive)

Cheers Jacco!

I thought I could count on you for a proper translation.
Btw my excuse for not speaking my local emsländer plattdeutsch is that I was one year old when we moved away from there.
However my dad did speak it and every dutch person he ever met thought that he was fro Groningen and wouldn't believe that he was german.

I havn't done the tour at the new place, I use to work near the old place, you'd often see Corrie people around, and the Corrie groupies at the gates...

Sofaspud, thanks for the link, what a trip down memory lane to younger more care free days.

So true ! (ortograph, Maison de l'audiophile & chinese food in France !)

Most of this food is from Vietnam à la sauce cantonaise ! Though some more true chinese restaurents (very few are goods, rare !) in the other bigger asian aera in the South of Paris (13° arrondissement)! Les faubourgs de Belleville are in the North-East of Paris !

I read Gong somewhere ?! ..............Camembert 😀 !
