Weed and music

Definitely get that feeling like all of the different instruments/tracks that make up the song come to life and each layer separates and is distinguishable.

Unfortunately sometimes I notice more negative things too like distortion etc can become more apparent. And I'll get stuck on those and wont be able to forget about it lol
Sorry to be boring, but that's exactly where my brain always goes when listening to audio - and I've never touched the stuff! Seriously, the whole smoking thing for me, in every area, has always been a, huuuhh!?? I just get off on the straight vibes of the sound, and the way of experiencing the music you describe there is precisely what I chase - with, also, both the positive, and negative, aspects 😀.

Luckily, tweaking and fiddling with the system gear produces the "high" as well ... perfectly legal in my neck of the woods, so far ... 😉

Yes you are right best illegal system tweak, my knowledge is also just theoretical

Legal here, and practical studies are underway 😉
Results vary erratically (forget double blind tests)

Seriously, this stuff is a big change for the state. A couple of my clients have large warehouse spaces dedicated to growing. Huge electric demands, those lights put out enough heat that the air conditioning must be used all winter too (but then heating again when the lights are off). Shipments of co2 often, hope it's 'recycled co2'.

I'm guessing the price for warehouse space has doubled. Along with the same-sex marriage this has resulted in a big influx of people here, residential real estate is way up too. But all booms have their busts.

I'm for legalization everywhere. If everyone plants a few hundred, it might be enough oxygen to balance out the co2 their cars put out. (or maybe they won't be interested in cars anymore)

Those who follow my antics know that while I have used simulations to test my theories, practical experience has been the only way to know if something works.

Let's just say that when I went to a Jimi concert, and he asked "have you ever been experienced?, I was.

In about the same time frame there was a group gathering in the Florida Keys where someone brought some Moody Blues records. As the song played "let Merlin cast his spell, we did.....purple microdot might have been involved.

Later that night we were "Obscured by Clouds" and then introduced to Firesign Theater.......don't crush that dwarf, hand me the pliers! Now after 40+ years, how would I remember those events without "enhancement"

Ever "enter the zone" with a bunch of people in a room full of musical instruments for several hours with the tape recorder running, then play back the tape two days later and wonder "what the f%^*." Really, 45 minutes of a guitar pick on the springs in a Hammond reverb cabinet. Must have sounded cool at the time.

I did some part time work in a couple of local recording studios in the late 60's and early 70's. We made a lot of noise, but did create some useful "music." Sadly, when I discovered the tapes later in life, most of the oxide layer wound up on the floor during attempted playback.

I think some music was written and recorded during an altered state, and many people prefer listening to it in that manner.

I spent most of the time between age 16 and 37 in an altered state, and so did most of my friends. Those were some of the most creative years in our lives, in both music and electronics. I learned to keep a tape recorder and a note pad nearby so that ideas could be recalled more clearly the next day. Sometimes they were way out there. One of my intelligent friends had drawn this complex diagram of his idea to capture a lightning bolt and store it's energy in a swimming pool, after all it is a big capacitor, right????? Yeah Bill, have another toke!

By age 37 it became time to assume a more responsible lifestyle....kids were taught the "evils of weed" in school (turn in your parents, you're really doing them a favor), corporate drug testing became a reality and people were being fired for first positive tests, and I was offered the opportunity to go back to college on Motorola's money (I didn't cut it in my teens, it was more fun to smoke dope and play in the recording studio), so my "altered states" days were over. I haven't desired to return there since.

The vast majority of lasting music was written or recorded under the influence of some drug.

That includes classical music. Back then tea and coffee were too expensive and water too dangerous so they covered all their daily fluid needs with wine, beer or spirits.

I know a lady in the late stages of MS, now confined to a powered wheelchair, and she has a prescription for weed. And she absolutely loves it, especially getting high and listening to music. Apparently weed helps with MS symptoms too, but she doesn't mention that nearly as much 🙂

I went to university more than a statute of limitations ago, and was passed a joint or two. We didn't do much listening to music, usually it was spent just laughing at each other followed by macgyvering some munchies together. "hey, we've got everything in here for nachos!" "uh, we don't have nachos themselves!" "we've got a box of chicken strips though!"

Well of course for these effects to be validated as objective a double blind panel would be needed. Two batches of cannabis indistinguishable in taste and smell except the placebo has been genetically modified to eliminate THC. Precisely rolled to the nearest 0.01g and randomly distributed to listeners in a very well ventilated (to minimize cross-crowd buzzing) listening venue. Multiple sessions over the course of weeks to ensure all receive a balanced mix of experimental target and placebo. I'm sure the legal cannabis industry would provide the test materials given the promotional opportunity. In the interest of furthering human knowledge and the audio experience I would humbly volunteer as a test subject. Of course we'll need some trained experimenters to run the study...anyone? Bueller? Anyone?

You don't have to bother with genetically modified weed to get rid of the THC.
One can get remove the THC by means of a temperature-controlled vaporizer without singing or discolouring the plant material itself.

Or so I've been told...

I'm sure that most of the test subjects could figure out if they were the control, or the studied group 5 minutes after the test started. "Hey dude, this weed sucks!"

by macgyvering some munchies together. "hey, we've got everything in here for nachos!"

Every good stoner knows to ALWAYS have Doritos and Chips Ahoy in the house at all times. Of course a house full of stoners can devour a pantry full of munchies in say an hour.

Weed pizza anyone.....don't knock it until you try it. It works good, and makes the whole house smell good.

The secret to cooking with weed is clean finely ground stuff. Grandma's old flour sifter is an excellent device for this purpose.

We agree again Frank, I'm just too cheap to bother but I don't take any pollution into my lungs voluntarily in any case.

EDIT - I have friends that are life long stoners, I don't judge at all when you onto yourself as you choose.

Does anyone believe this? I sure don't.
