regarding 10 versus 11 PCB , most Chinese manufacturers do that. I have shifted over from PCBway to esasyeda:p....easyeda has been giving me 11 PCBs consistently...

2$ for less than 100mm x 100mm even if its 99.5x 99.5...OR so....
so total including shipping is 12 USD for 11 perfectly working PCB.
PCBway is 17-18 USD...Duh!

So go ahead DIYers and use the opportunity of 2 USD for 10+1 PCB +shipping...just google easyeda:D

regards
Prasi

Hi Prasi. For a cost of $12 including shipping how much do customs charge ?Thanks.

Unngan, There is no problem to use Thiago's boards, they work as is. It is also very easy to modify the board to work as intended. Just break the trace on the negative of C7. Solder a wire from that negative to the anode of D7. Very easy :)

Vrystaat,
Thanks for the info. I guess no one has actually built the Thiago boards I sent out in the GB yet. Thiago said he tested them and they work as is. So we will keep this in mind when building and testing. Also note Hugh's comments about the switch from 2SA1381 to BD140 it's not a good switch so encourage using 2SA1381 if you have it. Also, on inputs, the BC550 and BC560 cannot take the higher voltages and Hugh recommended the original 2N5401/5551 but note that legs on those are different. Apparently, 2SA1381 and 2N5401/2N5551 are hard to find in Brazil?

So here is Vrystaat's mod for Thiago layout.

Thiago Board

Hi,

One channel complete board is good to go, apart from the hack as described above. Ran through all the tests let it soak overnight.
Using Dacz rev2 22/08/16 schematic fitted with 2n5401, 2sc2240,2sa1381,bd139,irfp240 & Mjl4281 (1nf B-C)

Great sounding amp

Regards
Bruce

Hi Hugh,

Firstly thanks to you & Ranchu for your design and efforts. Well I'll try too describe what I hear tested with blues, jazz & classic/prog rock. It's not often sat here for hours digging out vinyl and CDs, last time was with an Aleph J.

Bass well controlled and defined, mid and highs smooth, lush err get the idea. Beautiful tone, deep and wide soundstage. Noise ? Can't hear any even right up close. For me it's all in the Tone.
