USSA-5 PCB GB

Guyome 2 pairs - confirmed
baggerbole 2 paire
detdur 2 paire - confirmed
G600 1 paire - confirmed
Norgaard 2 pairs - confirmed
rebone 2 pairs - confirmed
manniraj 1 pair (USSA-3)
Nikodemuzz 1 pair - confirmed
a007udio 2 pairs (ussa-5) confirmed
Confirmed for me as well. I did a little housekeeping with the list, adding updating everyone who had confirmed so far. I marked @a007udio as confirmed as well, they joined the list after the confirmation request, so could be considered as such.

hi I have updated the confirmation list. Assuming manniraj will reconfirm ( I am pretty sure) then we are at 30 pcbs. Next pcb ordering quantity after 30 is 50 but after 30 pcbs price increase of additional pcbs becomes very small. So I will order 50 to allow possible interest in the future.

so manniraj can you reconfirm ( not putting pressure on you…😉)?

Hi.

Fab, thanks for chart 😉 Could USSA 7 version also be built with this PCB version board?
I am glad the chart can help.
The USSA-7 is based on the FSSA amplifier front end and uses the FSSA pcb and is meant for higher power so that is why there is a cascode jfet input stage to cope for the max voltage to be applied on the jfet. The USSA-7 is called a limited edition because it uses obsolete driver and obsolete output….
The USSA pcb could also be used for a new version “9” (with 2SK1530/SJ201 as output) in a similar way to the B version where the 2 pins of output are reversed. However I did not try it because the mosfet are obsolete and thought there would be no interest… driver could be FQP3 also…

I will proceed with the pcb ordering and will provide the price list for each one of you depending on Quantity and shipping country. According to the pcb manuf site there will be an expected lead time of 3 weeks to get to my door and usually about 2 weeks more to get to you….

I have added a comparison table between all USSA variations in the 1st post of the thread. Note that some characteristics are subjective and personal and applicable to my own system. Hoping it should help you decide which one(s) to build….🤔

Thank you, this is very informative! It made me think that perhaps it's actually the USSA-3 that would suit me better. My speakers (FHXL) are capable of creating a great sense of space, and would pair really well with an amp that can create a big soundstage, I think.

One suggestion for added usability for the chart would be to somehow include the information about matching requirements of the components. Which components need to be matched, on what metric and to what degree? Within or across channels? That would give us the data about which components are needed for which versions, but also whether it is enough to find the required components in the first place or do we need to find matching pairs/quads.

That might be a bunch of work to do, though, so I get it if you can't do it. Just a suggestion and an observation that came to mind when trying to figure out which version I wanted to / could build.

Hi Nikodemuzz
have in mind that the comparison provided is relative to each other of the different versions. All USSA variations have Big soundstage because that is the main objective of the design parameters used. Some have an even more bigger soundstage but are less performant in other areas (ex: bass les tight or else)….always compromise, like anything else in life 😉

Most builders have chosen the USSA-5.0 version and they report a very good soundstage with separation of instruments - in general - from what I recal…

thank you for your suggestions. All the matching requirements for parts are already in the USSA-3 and USSA-5 manuals. I recommend to always read the manuals before taking the decision anyway …🤔
