All right, my programming skills did not let me explain myself properly. By autorouter I understand the subroutine/s or function/s called to draw track lines during manual track routing. Sometimes, the autorouter functions are used to "suggest" tracks that might be used. As you insisted, learning necessitates that one does manual track routing. That is more than logical.
 
An autorouter routes the tracks automatically.
However, a lot of engineers frown upon autorouting as it doesn't always do a good job.
Often you have to go in afterwards and fix things like star grounding etc

I dont bother with an autorouter, I just use a net optimiser and a "swap auto-placer"
The swap auto-placer swaps around same components until shortest net is found.
You can stop it moving certain components if you want.
