Can you draw us a quick sketch? So I go back to my room, and this thing's still out there, with that whistle going on, for about 20 more minutes...
I sat mezmerized on a chair by the window, watching it.
1921 Albert Einstein received the Nobel Prize for 'Services to Theoretical Physics' which no doubt included his Theory of Relativity.
NOOO. He received the Nobel prize for his works in the Photoelectric Effect, which was able to be measured at the time. He never got one for relativity.
There are too many open-ended in relativity. Even to this day, a lot of it is still unknown. The Nobel committee will not award you for something like that. In order to get the Nobel prize whatever you work on has to be confirmed by evidence and measurement.
In order for Einstein to be right, dark matter has to exist but nobody can find any direct evidence for that. Yes there are evidence for dark matter but nothing DIRECT.

Possibly. However, how inexplicably bizarre it would be to attempt an cover up of Russian A-bomb detection tests (from New Mexico?) by telling the press you have recovered, wait for it, a crashed FLYING SAUCER? That news was thought to divert attention away from activities at the base? Really?
No the pop press made up the stories and simply playing dumb they didn't need to make up any diversions. The flying saucer stuff was around before Roswell.
Scott, with all due respect this is incorrect.
Roswell Army Air Base issued the press release regarding recovered crashed UFOs. Lieutenant Walter Haut, public information officer at Roswell Army Air field said this in the press release:
Roswell Army Air Base issued the press release regarding recovered crashed UFOs. Lieutenant Walter Haut, public information officer at Roswell Army Air field said this in the press release:
The many rumors regarding the flying discs became a reality yesterday when the intelligence office of the 509th (atomic) Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force, Roswell Army Air Field, was fortunate enough to gain possession of a disc through the cooperation of one of the ranchers and the sheriff’s office of Chaves County.
Of course he did not say that 😀Maybe you should listen to Einstein himself. Theory is not fact.
"No amount observations can prove my theory correct. But it only takes one observation to prove my theory wrong." Einstein.
A theory is just that. A theory.
In fact he stated 3 ways it COULD be proven, just he couldn´t himself for practical reasons, but he was open to somebody else doing so.
🙂But a strong gravitational field throws classical predictions off. Einstein postulated three ways this theory could be proved. One was by observing the stars during a total solar eclipse. The sun is our closest strong gravitational field. Light traveling from a star through space and passing the sun's field would be bent, if Einstein's theory were true. If you could see the star during the day, he predicted, it would be in a different place than at night. The only chance to see it during the day would be during an eclipse.
On March 29, 1919, that opportunity came. British Astronomer Sir Arthur Eddington traveled to Príncipe Island off the western coast of Africa. His team photographed starfields during the eclipse and compared the photos with those of the same starfield taken when the sun was not present. Eddington found the apparent location of the stars had shifted, just as Einstein predicted.
Further proofs of Einstein's theory came with advancing technology through the 1960s and continue in the present. But the immediate impact in 1919 was enormous.
FWIW it is not only proven but NEEDED to be accounted for, when working with particle accelerators (think CERN) because particles are accelerated near Light speed and their Mass changes dramatically, which affects trajectories big time and that is easily measured.
More quotes from that story, you can believe whatever you want.
Article with pictures of the "disk" debris. What Really Happened at Roswell? - HISTORY
In June, or possibly early July 1947, William Brazel had woken for a normal day’s work on the J.B. Foster ranch in Lincoln County, New Mexico, 75 miles (120 kilometers) north of Roswell, when he made a shocking discovery. He found on the ranch "a large area of bright wreckage made up of rubber strips, tinfoil, a rather tough paper and sticks.
Major Jesse A. Marcel was the group intelligence officer dispatched to the scene. He’d gone with Counter Intelligence Corps officer Sheridan Cavitt, but on his way back took a detour to his own home, whipped out a couple of boxes of debris that he’d popped into the boot of his car and showed it to his 10-year-old son, Jesse Jr. One of the objects was said to have hieroglyphic-like markings, something that stuck in the mind of the young boy

Scott, I’m not sure what you mean. RAAF issued that statement, it is not up for debate.
Do I believe Roswell was a UFO crash/retrieval? No
Do I believe the US military has been forthright about what really occurred? No
My suspicion regarding the truth (in a nutshell) is either an orchestrated hoax or some top secret tests with high-altitude human experiments using macroencephalitic children.
As somebody who believes there is a true “UFO phenomenon” but does not promote any particular hypothesis as to what it is, I find it wise to discard the house of cards that is Roswell.

YEESSS. Einstein received his Nobel Prize for Services to Theoretical Physics and his work on the Photoelectric Effect.
The reason he never got one specifically for Relativity is that the experimental confirmation was only possible after his death and the Nobel Prize has a very strong stipulation that it can NEVER be given posthumously.

Sorry it seems clear to me the "disk" referred to was actually the remains contained in those boxes. This (including your quote) is all from the original article. Not worth a lot of comment since even the stories in the press changed every few days at the time. I got my comment form one of the more rational articles many years later that claimed some military folks thought the UFO stuff was a good distraction for the public.
If I were in charge of or involved with skunk works and there were no UFO stories about I would actively invent them just to throw people off of what we were actually doing.
So they gave it to him just in case he died before it could be confirmed?YEESSS. Einstein received his Nobel Prize for Services to Theoretical Physics and his work on the Photoelectric Effect.

Ben Rich director of skunkworks:
Source"We now have technology to take ET home. No it won't take someone's lifetime to do it. There is an error in the equations. We know what it is. We now have the capability to travel to the stars. First, you have to understand that we will not get to the stars using chemical propulsion. Second, we have to devise a new propulsion technology. What we have to do is find out where Einstein went wrong."

huh?
Oh, let me guess...it's in the "offing"

Can you draw us a quick sketch?
It's in my mind, my memory, and although I can still picture it, I'm not good at sketches, sorry.
I actually for the most part, forget about it, it's only when talk about UFO's come along that I react, and remember it all over again.
You had to have been there, like I was.
On a very serious note, the US better get ahead of this UFO before the Russian or Chinese. If they got it figured out first. Game over. Better run for your life.
O yeah that's it, Obama spilled the beans, the traitor. At least our very own wiseoldtech is keeping mum. It's game over, head fer the hills. 😱On a very serious note
Not that fast.
All we have is "somebody else" claiming Ben Rich said that.
Somebody who writes for the Mutual UFO Network’s journal so he´s biased, a confirmed accolyte, a True Believer, you name it.
Best case, second hand unconfirmed information.aerospace engineer Tom Keller wrote an article for the Mutual UFO Network’s journal that said Ben Rich revealed that .......
And EVEN IF that had actually been said, it does not make it any truer.
"The proof of the pudding is in the eating" so, where´s the "pudding"?
Where´s ANY working UFO prototype?
Any FTL ship even if football sized?
No need for full Star to Star capability ... any which can reach Neptune and back in 10 minutes?
Otherwise this sounds like baseless bragging, with zero support:
Keller, who worked as a computer systems analyst for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, quoted Rich as saying the following:
We ar talking current Technology here.“Inside the Skunk Works, we were a small, intensively cohesive group consisting of about fifty veteran engineers and designers, and a hundred or so expert machinists and shop workers. Our forte was building technologically advanced airplanes of small number and of high class for highly secret missions.”
???????????????????????“We already have the means to travel among the stars, but these technologies are locked up in black projects, and it would take an act of God to ever get them out to benefit humanity.
Gimme a break!.
Try me 😉Anything you can imagine, we already know how to do it.”
So you know it 😱“We now have technology to take ET home. No it won’t take someone’s lifetime to do it. There is an error in the equations. We know what it is.
So you don´t 😛We now have the capability to travel to the stars. First, you have to understand that we will not get to the stars using chemical propulsion. Second, we have to devise a new propulsion technology. What we have to do is find out where Einstein went wrong.”
Funny, nobody know how ESP works (hint: it does not)“When Rich was asked how UFO propulsion worked, he said, ‘Let me ask you. How does ESP work?’ The questioner responded with ‘All points in time and space are connected?’ Rich then said, ‘That’s how it works!’ ”
How do you explain an unknown by another unknown?
Easy, you failed "Logic 101" at school.
At least the Russians proved their capabilities in ´57 by putting an aluminum football in space; where´s yours?
O yeah that's it, Obama spilled the beans, the traitor. At least our very own wiseoldtech is keeping mum. It's game over, head fer the hills. 😱
I'm not "keeping mum" as you suggest.
It's just that conveying things across the internet doesn't have the same power as being there.
I'd actually love to meet an alien though, maybe gain some more perspective about things...
Asides from some of the "aliens" on here and other tech sites who have senses above humans and can hear IM distortions that I can't, or even care about.
