Here's a link to a story of "the Big Flap" in Washington, DC.
When UFOs Buzzed the White House and the Air Force Blamed the Weather - HISTORY
I couldn't find anything suggesting Paul Hill was a witness to it. He did experience a related sighting during the same month.
"Buzzed the White House" is a bit of journalistic license.
It was the same event over two weekends as on the history channel. The witnesses saw the same thing from different locations and at slightly varying times in the same general area. It's very common for descriptions of the same events by numerous witnesses to describe them slightly differently with emphasis on different things. Rarely do those descriptions read identically. Read his book if you want to learn about it.
What is something I am missing, just as an example?
Did you miss the strongly implied power of suggestion that was included in the history.com article? Or are you choosing to ignore it?
It's very common for descriptions by witnesses to be wrong.
There's no such thing as "an expert eyewitness."

Why don't you purchase Mr. Hill's book and judge for yourself? Are you presuming that because eyewitness accounts CAN be wrong that they ARE wrong? If you are interested in science and are curious about the subject I would expect you to do your own due diligence. Or are you too lazy as your pseudonym implies? It seems to me you are coming in with a bias and are uninterested in the scientific method in this case because your own bias makes fact finding inconvenient. 😱
Apparently there is. Credentials seem to matter. There's no such thing as "an expert eyewitness."
So called eyewitness testimony has got to be the worst form of fact, data collecting...We have over a hundred years of "human baggage", our poor eyesight, mediocre hearing abilities & by far our inane tendency to embellish, to actual believe we were seeing more than was actually there.
This is what created this powerful thing we call science, an unerring gaze of a high-resolution camera cannot record something that wasn't quite there.
Notice we're seeing the inevitable fuzzy pictures & videos when the likes of high-definition has been with us for some time now?

We need some expert in term of how F18 camera works. Flying at that speed, and especially at night, it's possible that you cannot have a long camera exposure time hence the less than focused image. Also infrared does not have as good focused vs. visible light.

There has only been one recorded alien on Earth and that was Jesus, if you believe the bible. Stories of miracles abound.

you can bet that the military camera does not have such a basic flaw, if it were designed to work with infra red that is. But if the camera has both visible and IR then you’re gonna have issues. These military cameras are state of art in many regards. Of course speed is another issue, as is the distortion of light through turbulent air with temperature gradients (aka mirages).

With the ability to film an object at a million frames per sec, I don't think speed is an issue. That's not even military grade.
Why don't you purchase Mr. Hill's book...
An example may compel a purchase. Or may not. But I asked 3 questions and received 0 answers. Instead I got...umm...nothing useful.
I don't consider myself an expert, but I have spent a significant amount of time in the 70s, 80s, and 90s on the subject. Hill's book came a little late to that party or I'm sure we would have crossed paths.
The bottom line is: if this is the best YOU can do after reading the book, I think I'll pass. TYVM.

Well if it's not mounted on a F18 it doesn't count.
Thank God, they are taking care that humans do not annihilate each other! It seems that they can nullify a nuclear explosion, I wonder why they did not do it with the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs? Maybe until that moment they didn't expect us to be so criminal and / or so stupid?
After all, the human being is the only species that kills others for commercial interests (wars) associated with the social psychopathies of those who govern us. All other species kill to eat and survive, only what is necessary.

In the 1955 movie "The Day The Earth Stood Still", the robot's name was "Gort".
Now, imagine the name God, as an alien being.
Being an agnostic, I'd lean towards long-ago cave writings and drawings in caves as a type of story to be told.
Why would old cave drawings depict things like flying saucers, stars, and rocket ships?
Why is it "US Naval pilots"? What about other navies, and other pilots?
IMHO the simpler questions should be answered first before moving on to possible propulsion schemes, galaxy of origin, and the like.
I don't know, but here are six possibilities off the top of my head:
1) You don't actually know that other Navy's haven't seen them.
2) Because the UFOs wish to be seen by the world's most powerful Navy.
3) Air Force pilots have reported UFOs since WWII, so, not only the Navy.
4) World Commercial pilots have reported UFOs for decades.
5) Private pilots have reported UFOs since at least Kenneth Arnold, in 1947.
6) It's not only humans, on-board cameras have now 'seen' them too.
Your question can be asked of us, but only answered by the intelligence behind the craft. Whether under human control or not, they should be a national security matter of the greatest concern.
Why would old cave drawings depict things like flying saucers, stars, and rocket ships?
They had very dark skies and observed comets, fire balls, meteors, etc. why not record events strange to them?
When were those particular cave drawings discovered and is there an original record of the discovery? In the 1955 movie "The Day The Earth Stood Still", the robot's name was "Gort".

I think they were all on the same day and at the same time, but I don't remember it at the moment....😀

Just so you know, your comment clearly shows that you're either living in a cave or under a rock yourself, or you're just trying to be a simple a-hole.
There are easy ways of researching others comments before making your own.
Maybe you've got autistic stuff going on?
I can appreciate the usual critisism to some things.... but only on occasion.
