Thanks TA. I've ordered the book. Question in the meanwhile:I sometimes recommend that those who are interested in learning more get a copy of "The Art of Electronics" by Horowitz & Hill.
It is a thick tome, or very large PDF file, and covers all the basics and then some. I really hate watching YouTube vids. I nice hardback textbook is a great reference to have, and one can digest at one's leasure.
What are the definitions of ugs and ube?
Doesn't that mean quiescent or idling current that a powered-up amp or other electronic component not outputting anything draws?Didn't want to clutter another thread, the term lq comes up often and a quick google was useless. If I understand what @Zen Mod said it has to do with the amperage across a resistor. Would someone either enlighten me or point me toward an explanation for a newbie?
What's wrong with reading some funny books, or at least some funny articles ......... much better than getting to speed with single questions and replies ............
yes, site it is in work, but I can bet all articles are on disposal just if you ( or anyone else) click in right way:

Since you mention Vbe and Vgs together, the implication is that you have been reading about transistor curves or amplifier bias. These are the "input" bias for BJT and FET transistors, and will be graphed wrt the resulting collector and drain currents, Vbe vs Ic and Vgs vs Id, for a given voltage on the collector/drain.
