Re: By the way.........................
I just ordered 25 of them from mouser to try.
I blew the first 353 on the board messing around trying to add a gain stage before it.

Highly recommended!!

Question on modules UcD180ST. Expediency of replacement of condensers 470uFx63V (Samwha SD) on Low ESR type Yageo SC?
I have read 90 pages and I've seen systems trigger amplifiers, connecting to hearth or to +12 V in the ps, but have not found an activation system using the audio inputs (like with subwoofers) Any idea?

Jalejos, in the most basic sense, you want to run the input signal through a comparator, and the output of the comparator is connected to a capacitor. When the input signal is high enough, the comparator goes high, charges the cap, and provides the turn-on voltage for the amp. When no signal in present, the cap will discharge slowly, and eventually the amp will turn off because the "turn-on" voltage is too low.
It may be helpful to look at the schematic for a common subwoofer amp. Look here. When that image is properly rotated, the amp on/off/auto functions are the lower right circuit.

Have a look at this circuit, easy to build, works great. You could use a sturdy relais to switch the main supply off, or use the circuit as a trigger for the UcDs.
I have read much of the thread and did a search but couldn't find the answer.
When using the single ended input is it best to short the inverted input to ground or use a resistor?
Thanks.

Have a look at the hypex website, read over their app sheets and you'll see how to best wire it for single ended. Basically you tie it to ground but it's a question of how and where that matters.
Some pre-amplifiers have a 12 volt trigger connection. Could use this connection to turn on the amp (UCD180 with smps180) ?
In the data sheet that seems to activate smps180 is put under stress by 12 volt

I have just ordered a ready-built integrated amp containing 2 UcD180HG modules, and I am really wondering how good it REALLY is compared to other amplifiers?
I find lots of technical bits and pieces, but how good are these things at throwing a musical performance with tons of details, realism, dynamics and on and on?
How much power can 2 x 180HG deliver with 300VA? Enoug for two floorstanders - also at pretty high levels?

HEllo ,
Is there a layout for any af these ucd especialy for the 700w ? please someone post the link , i don't wont to read all those pages and if it's possible the full documentation of diy build ......
Thanks

I have schema for only 700. It was for term project to graduate, work good. You give email I send
Hi.
six months ago I have build UCD180HG with HxR amplifier it sounds really good, very dynamic, very rich and bass is also very good. I just have bought a preamplifier Pioneer C73 and it sounds really excellent with it. But after half of the volume which is quite high for indoor the sound starts distort. Can anybody tell me why is it happen?
Regards

Wasim,
It may be that your speakers are being overdriven. You didn't mention what you're using as speakers, nor the size of the room you do your listening in. Some of the small, but otherwise excellent speakers may not be able to handle the power neccessary for life-like reproduction in a larger space. However, this may be wide of the mark, but I'm sure others may be able to offer even better advice.
Best Regards,

Hi TerryO,
Thanks for the reply. I have DIY speakers: Its half horn design and I used Eminence Kappa 15" Woofer 8ohm. They can handle much more power I think but my room is quite small It like 12' X 15' 🙂

What exactly do you mean when you say that after half of the volume the sound starts to distort? Half of what volume? Or did I miss something here?
For example, it could well be that your music peaks reach the rated output power way before you fully turn up your volume; this is even quite common. It depends on the source, the gain of your preamp and the gain of the UcD.
