I've edited my post a bit with another idea of the studio monitor + sub - does that work for you? Bob Brines IIRC has run his Alp 7.3 TL and a 12" sub for quite some time with satisfactory results.
Edit: One diyA member did a pretty mean Alp 7.3 FAST a few years back:

Those are beautiful but no option to run the 7.3 fullrange. Really want the up-firing driver too. My room is too small for bipoles or dipoles. Not sure what kind of pole an up-firing driver is 🙂
Ok sir, you want the up-firing option...
You can take one of the drivers from the studio monitor design and place it on the top - should be ok to do. The overall sonic presentation might change due to the top firing driver interaction, but rest should work out ok.

O.K. thanks. I wasn't sure if that would affect this design or not. Guess my question was a bit convoluted. Appreciate it Z!
I couldn't live with 2 x 4" drivers stacked under over facing you (like a derringer).
It helped sound cleaner, but I had to level them with pennies sitting 10' away, any slouching and highs were lost.
2 x 4" worked well crossing 24db 5khz to a piezo.
Assuming you can live with the bass that comes from 2 x 4" of cone area.
A woofer run wide open (but was rolling maybe 500hz due to inductance) worked well, especially making up for the narrow baffle I had the 4's on.
