Question on TPA3116 on dual voice coil woofer 2x 4Ohm:
Should it be done with 2 channels 4Ohm or pbtl 1x 2Ohm?

I'd say 1x2ohm in PBTL. You'll get higher output.
so the outer pins on the 4 bootstraps is the proper connection for snubber correct ?

yes.
have a look at page 5 of this:

Yes YJblue/black all 4 bootstrapcapacitor outerlegs (closest to an edge of pcb) are signaltraces, inner capacitorlegs have traces back to tpachip (differs from danzz schematic post #941)
[. Thanks guys.

I have the board shown in my earlier post HERE
And when in use it produces a random "click" every so often- about once a minute or so, but random, not regular and not associated with the audio that is playing. I looked at it on my 'scope and it is a little pulse of ~10 kHz sine waves, maybe 5 cycles total. Makes a sound like an LP click or pop.
I am using a regulated linear supply at 22 volts. This board has the "snubber" SMD resistor+cap for each channel on the bottom of the board.
Any suggestions on how to stop these clicks?
UPDATE This amplifier is "embedded" in a chassis as a tweeter amp for a biamp speaker project. I tidied up some of the board-to-board signal wiring and so on as I finish up / finalize the construction, and the popping went away. Can't say exactly what caused it, but whatever, apparently it was some kind of wiring / loose connection thing.
What have you guys that are using step up transformers at input
Instead of capacitors think are the best ones to get ?

CineMag CMLI-15/15B seems to be the favourite here, but over US$100 a pair.
Edcor TTPC15K/15K at $30 a pair is well regarded as an affordable alternative.
Search this forum thread for "Cinemag" and "Edcor" for more information.

I have the CineMag CMLI-15/15B line input transformers. These are 1:1 input transformers, so they are not step-up type transformers. An alternative would be Jensen JT-11P input transformers. I tried the Edcor TTPC-15K:15K and found them to work well with the Sure TPA3116 BTL (stereo) amp, but not as well with my modified Yuan Jing TPA3116 blue amp. In any case, the CineMags sounded more transparent compared to the Edcors. I've since built the DUG TPA3116 PBTL amps offered through the diyAudio group buy, and using these with the CineMags has really raised the level of performance.

LoL... I never bought one of those, I didnt know they changed that... I guess, that they only copy the components positions...
Yes, a mono board. That one came with a volume knob and the quick connect input cable. Wanted to use it for a small sub. It's 26dB, switchable to 32dB.
Have you already tried this board with a sub?, I bought one to drive a TB W5-1138 in a Voxel sub design from Paul Carmody, and I just read in some PE tech talk thread someone using the breeze audio 2.1 amp that this sub its a bit mudy with this amp. This sub its a 40W rms handler, so I thought that this amp would do the job...
Something else I notice from a long time ago, is that the 2.1 amps are rated 50Wx2 and 100wx1, but this amp in PBTL mode would give 100W at 2 Ohms... so at 4 Ohms, would give the 50W only rated as in BTL, the only diference, that in PBTL mode it can handle lower loads as 2 Ohms, I am right!?... Thats a hugh diference, because some people is buying this amp thinking that is a 100W at 4Ohms, when is not.

you are right.
the 2Ohm-capability is a nice feature for some applications (i still would like to hear some opinions wether a dual voice coil woofer should be used in pbtl 1x2Ohm or btl 2x4Ohm)
and saves some parts if you have optimize the outputfilters for only one channel (i have almost only mono applications).
for higher impedance speakers and if high spl is wanted i recommend the tda7498.

there are some small changes, but most traces are identical 😀 the led was too expensive 🙂
BTL has very little output at 1.75 ohm minimum impedance, if 3.5 ohm is minimum impedance of each 4 ohm voicecoil. If you need outputlevel for DSP for example PBTL will give you more I guess.

Yes, I also looked at the TDA7498 for this application, but I didnt find any mono board of this chip...
going a little bit off topic... Is there any 100W or similar mono board with a 24V dc single supply?...

Led and the resistor!!... hahaha!!!!...
You see I never bought one of those... it must be some stupid self-respect...
if higher spl is wanted on higher impedances one could recommend tda7498 WITH higher voltage PSU, same PSU=~same output

at least no class d ;-)
some sellers claim 'bridging' or 'paralleling' would be possible with their modules, but .... someone has to examine that (ST, the chip manufacturer (or developer) says not possible in its forum).

i'm not sure if that is true for 8 Ohm speakers.
available / wanted psu is another point to determine which chip is best for the application.
while tpa311x works with much lower voltages, tda749x just gets into work just below what would be too much for an 311x.
ST datasheet claims an overvoltage protection at 40V.
that would be interesting to examine, as 40V would be slightly too low for three fully charged 12V sla batteries.
