Great idea🙂
And then you buy from taobao? Safe and quick?
Hi,
Fellows maybe you may like to use battery to power the 3116 instead of PSU or Linear PS. I use 4*12 Vdc battery connected in series and parallel to give me 24Vdc. I can play music continuously for more than 4-5 hours without the need to charge them in between times. I use them on my TK2050 and will test them on my latest purchase, a 3116.
Give it a try and you would be pleasantly surprise.

ttan98,
SLA batteries?
Yes, I use Powersonic battery, model: 1250, cheap in the States.
lacro- great photo of the snubber caps. What value are the caps and resistors?
I tried going through other posts but couldn't find it.
cheers

I've got some 470uf Panasonic FMs as well, how do you find the improvements after installing them together with the OSCONs?More humble modifications to my smsl SA-36A PRO TPA3118 powered with an AMB sigma-11 @ 18V.
Did the 2x OSCONs last week. Today it got 8x Panasonic FM 820uF (10x25mm). Fit beautifully in the case with ~5mm clearance at the top. The stock 470uF are shown for comparison. Sounds fine - need more listening time to say more. I suspect that with a really capable PS these capacitor changes make less difference, but I'll take whatever I can get.
Cheap thrills!
edit: Almost forgot to add...very minor turn-off thump stayed about the same over these last two upgrades, maybe a little less after the FMs.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

I used these Digi-Key part numbers suggested by others:
478-5212-ND
CAP CER 30PF 10V 5% RADIAL
S10CACT-ND
RES 10 OHM 1/4W 1% AXIAL
Thanks Lacro! I don't know if you responded to my request but I feel confident now to scrape up my boards to look for grounding.
I have done all mods except the input transformer mod and the snubber mod. I am still not really pleased with the sound. It is sort of metallic and blunt.
I suggest this quoted post would be best put in wiki, on top preferably.

Possibly the circuit diagrams as posted by xrk971 should be on the Wiki too.

Why would you want that on the wiki?

Two thumbs up for 8x FM + 2x OSCON. Bit smoother and more "musical" is all I can say. Makes me want to listen more. Well worth the small investment in time/money.
