Wow! It is finally here... a 2.1 with preamp for sub crossover and volume for $30! 150 watts. That is an amazing price. The parts look pretty good too. The heatsink looks small but that is all you need as it runs very cool.
If there are enough interested...
Dug,
Looks very nice, I see you have the connector between left and right side power rails without a jumper, and it appears to be 2 in x 2 in which means it can be made for $10 for 10 at Itead. I am very interested.

Same board but cleaned up a bit.
2.53 x 2.20

I found one seller on ebay with two available TPA3116 assembled modules. Who will bite first? Maybe me. 😀

VonAh,
Did you bite? For $24 or $30 how can you go wrong? I guess depends on shipping charges from China... Looking forward to first listening impressions. The circuit appears very close to TI factory recommended but I noticed the inductors are 22 uH rather than default 10 uH.

Loking good! DUG. Did not look as "A van garde" as your previous board though 😀.
Regards.
I did...
Now we will wait for delivery and see what we got..

That price includes shipping BTW. (to New Zealand 😀)
Should arrive between the 14th and 22nd of August, so will let you know more about build and sound quality then.

I was going to. But now, I shall wait for your feedback 😀. One thing about that amp is that the input does not use those the typical plastic terminal blocks on the PCB but one of those "three-pin plugs". Does it come with the amp?
Regards,
I bought a couple too, one its going to go for 2.1 Dock for my brother in law, similar design as the samsung DA-E750... The other one... I Will keep for a my own use if I like it...
Will post my feedback...

Looking forward to first sound on these eBay units from China. It's amazing, but the BOM costs more than what they are selling it for (which includes shipping to NZ or USA!) Crazy how they can do it. If this thing sounds as good as the one I built (which i suspect it does), there is no reason to buy a Lepai, Topping, FIIO, etc... which all cost more except the Lepai. Well you get a case with the others.

Hm, I bet Cristi's are still better quality though...

I noticed the three pin plug thing as well. They are identical to the connectors/sockets they use on computer motherboards.
I'll probably end up removing it and wiring the inputs straight to the board.

I don't know his amps, so can't comment.
I currently use a Dayton DTA100A which is based on the TK2050 chip, so it will be very interesting to compare this with the TPA3116 board. Plus I can use the 24V powersupply that came with the Dayton!😀

I do not doubt that. But these amps are available now to satisfy our curiosity!

Ouch. That's cheap. What is the pot for?
These very low prices suggests that the Chinese manufacturer has ordered a discounted BOM and has made or will make upwards of 10,000+ units. $16.90 including shipping, how does anyone do that???
It hardly seems worthwhile to try to build from scratch? These very low prices suggests that the Chinese manufacturer has ordered a discounted BOM and has made or will make upwards of 10,000+ units. $16.90 including shipping, how does anyone do that???
Now, DIY Dentistry, that could be interesting.😛
