What surprised me was that it's only 3 of the top 20! And 4 of the top 30.
Companies like for instance Google, Facebook and Iphone do not make money from "being nice", they do not make money from serving people facts.
Google, Facebook and Iphone make money from giving people what they want, and keeping people in their own separate little bubbles with no hope to escape.
That is not a conspiracy theory, that is capitalism in practice. Buy out your competitors before they develop IP that enable them to buy you.

Indeed, a pathetic situation.
Living a life centered around and dependent on a little battery-operated device is not normal living.

A stolen car suspect lead multiple police agencies on a pursuit across the Los Angeles Area. The suspect eventually parked the car in a Ralph’s supermarket parking lot. He exited the vehicle with his hands up in the air signaling to the circling helicopter in the sky that he was giving up. He calmly laid down flat on the ground for approximately 10 minutes waiting for the police come and arrest him. The police did not show up in time and he simply got up and walked away. No further info is known at this time.
