All rigth Alex mm.... we have to reverse the LED
Thank you to let us know this small mistake.
I am negotiating with Hugh Dean, and obtaining more informations about "Quasi" protection....maybe i will suggest folks to use the quasi protection already made and tested.
And a forum product...open to all of us.
Quasi protection detects off set.... and Hugh has a circuit to detect over current beeing consumed into the circuit... those three together will produce, will result, an unbeatable circuit to protect amplifiers.
I do not need to join all three together and produce my own... just to suggest all three to be built.... all them or one or two of them by the DHR builders
regards,
Carlos

Thank you dear Space....nice and fair review
Was great to have quality to be compared to a good class A amplifier...they normally beat class AB designs...of course bad Class A can loose for good class AB design..but this is not what normally happens..... the Class A usually sounds better.
Good review... if found it very fair and realistic... i found the same compared to JLH i have.
thank you very much.

Dear all,
here i have just completed another channel since its working so well that i can't wait to make another channel. here just to show how will be when i put it onto the space heat sink. output transistor will be change to sanken 2sc2922. i just made it for to show you. how nice Dx-turbo sound, fantastic amp. its great amp in class AB. you all can make much much more btr then me.
i know when i will put it into the box sound will be more btr.
best regards
michael

I have connected four speakers, series and parallel... to obtain power capacity
to face the DHR.. it is not really a good amplifier...it is Bad!... a bad man amplifier....it is anti social.... non healthy to your ears, it is an absurd.... when you power on, if not using switch having capacitor, pluging the male plug into the AC home outlet, together the spike, the transient produced reproduces a very loud "Tahc!!!" sound into the speaker that can be heard 200 meters away.... the bass punch almost destroy the speaker, the diafragm jumps out with so big energy that almost get out from the metalic frame.... i feel afraid to receive a coil bullet from one speaker that may explode so big is the pulse, peak, transient power energy.... crazy and animal, very hard and stupid power... windows goes shacking, glasses goes moving over the table, the front door, 11 meters distant from my 4 speakers starts to shake into the frame and the look keys start to go out from the place.... walls shakes...my big fat belly moves into the rithm.... the hairs into my legs too...my ear drum starts to produce some pain... transformer turns hot and hotter.... rectifiers that usually are dead cold turns hot..the 10 ampere fuse starts to change it's colour, goes rose, near to be melted... half gray, half rose..you know what i mean.... some smells are perceived from some resistances into the circuit..heatsink goes near 52 degrées... you may cook some eggs over the unit... after 10 minutes of punch the temperature there stabilizes into 55 degrées celsius... animal!.... standard lamps, the old traditional tungsten lamps changes it's brigth according to the rithm and the bass punches.
Diabolic!... animal!..... this is not for home purposes..... will be better into Stadium, into Public Adress, Large halls or to the ones are criminal and decided to demolish their own houses or to disturb seriously your neighboor... this is something they may call the police... the sound pressure is absurd, enormous!... the speaker coils smells going to melt the varnish...it is dangerous.
Carefull with this amplifier... a Bad man amplifier.

Dear dx,
i am now assembling the amp. i have some question about somethings i don't relly understand.
this few days i was operating without to attaching the diod on the heat sink. i tried one time but find there is a problem to attaching also have consider about short circuit with the heat sink.
now i have question, should i operate it without to attaching onto the heat sink or use any output transistor to make as a diod its easy to attach onto the heat sink as you recomended. i have some 2sc5200, 2sc5197 and 2sa1940, 2sa1943 transistors for output. pls if you can advice me this transistor how to use as a diod. means how to connect? thank you for your help.
which is positive and neg on the transistor E-C-B?
currently i am using sanken 2sc2922 as a output transistors but it expensive to have for diod.
best regards
michael

you can use a To92 or Eline or To126 or To220 transistor as a diode by shorting collector to base.
An NPN has emitter most negative, a PNP has the emitter most positive.
glue or clamp or bolt the flat transistor face to the heatsink.
a transistor with the collector connected to an exposed baseplate must be electrically insulated from the heatsink. Many To126 and some To220 have insulated faces.

dear dx,
Thaks for your diagram. i am now attaching onto the heat sink.
the amp is running quite well. no hum at all no pik or any unusual heat.
i think it is quite stable.

I have not tried...yet...to unstabilize this one
I think into this range of power, to unstabilize may be dangerous to my speakers...reason why i did not even tried.
But will try to unstabilize it today using dummy loads (resistances).
It seems stable...i continue to listen it all day long... very low volume..it is playing all day long..but some miliwatts..less than one watt.... i do not like loud music.... i hate noises from my neighboors and i do not produce noises to them too....i feel ashamed when i need to bother them testing something acoustically...it is needed...but i do for small time.
Burn tests are performed using resistances, and a small sample of the audio goes to monitoring speaker...using 220 ohms resistance in series or something alike... this way the amplifier goes producing maximum unclipped power and the volume at my speaker goes small.
I have tried power on this amplifier.... huge power to inspect the thermal control...but will try to unstabilize tweaking feedback capacitors, miller capacitor, zobel and will insert capacitive load too.
The coil was included because brazilian folks are crazy..... they may produce so big mess that will make the coil very needed... reason why i have installed there to protect the amplifier.
Audio folks here do not understand electronics...they can use 100 meters speaker wire and may test if wire is good producing shorts into the speaker wires.... amplifiers here, to my stone aged people, must be huge.
Brazilians are special artistically... arts, music, creative folks..but technically they are weak... with exceptions of course...we have all kind of industries with good engineers working there.... but the audio users...normal simple people folks...those are button pushers... they know how to switch on and turn the volume up.

Carlos

I found, folks, this condenser that needs to be increased.
Was hard to find the reason of my mistake... i have discovered because of an accident while tweaking...i was trying 1uF in this position.... the condenser i had there, installed into my prototype, measured 3.9uf when it is marked as a 2.2uf condenser....... so, in the reality i was having 3.9uf in that position and thinking i was having 2.2uF...old condenser used... an old Brazilian Siemens unit.
I could perceive, listening, that smaller values, alike 1uF had differences in sonics..... seems that alike tube sound... or when you have differences in amplitude into the positive half cicle compared to the negative half cicle.... the minimum value there must be 4.7uf (higher than 3.3uf)....i found that 10uf and 22uf works fine...but when you increase above this sounds strange..... not bad, but strange... undefined into the trebles....non realistic i have perceived....no air around the instruments.... the saxophone vibration, that is metalic..sounded alike some plastic saxophone vibrating....
Well... the amplifier remains sounding fine using 2.2uf..but i strongly suggest folks to try 4.7uf in this position.
The schematic will not need to be modified, the ones that use to read the thread with attention, if build using 4.7uf will have some advantage of quality over the others that has not the attention to read and follow the small tuning i use to make.
Those things i use to say...those tweaking results, can be checked by yourself, replacing condensers in this position (in this circuit of course).... imagine the sound produced by the Sax is a result of something thin and small alike a metalic nail vibrating (the metal used into the second world war...the cricket sound instrument used to communicate and help parachuters to identify their friends... the blade produced the cricket sound..this blade....a steel blade)...... so.... when sax plays, this vibrates and produces a harshing sound.... some vibration, metalic vibration... a harshing sound is the one you listen vibrating a dry bamboo splitted in two longitudinal pieces... cracked into two pieces into half of it's length.... so.... this is the noise the sax produces, but metalic, as it may use metalic blade..... NOW... imagine the blade made of some kind of plastic.... the difference of sound you may perceive substituting this condenser...this is what i have perceived.
Of course it is not very easy.... but if you go substituting and listening, you will see that diferences are.
regards,
Carlos

Thank you Sea to Sea.... i use to receive your telephatic transmissions
Thank you very much by your presence using the typping board...as your mind use to travel to my place very often.
Telephatic transmissions are very low frequencies and the entire body is the aerial...your aluminium helmet needed to be grounded and to be thick...also to cover your entire body alike a fire soldier.
Interesting... signal measured by some scientists had not found more than 12 miliwatts...i cannot understand how this happens.
ahahaha..no way to avoid transmissior with this small helmet and your arms around the dog...liquid inside your body and the dog's body make the whole work to transmit.... wavelength is big and body is small..so..always week and detuned..half body, or body plus a dog will work almost the same..ehehehe..very ba
Thanks... i will have a piece of cake and will transmit to you.
I will receive a lot of bull ship messages from the readers...ahahaha..i felt this funny.... will start now when i click to send message...first the moderators... SY will say immediatelly...bull sheep

Hello Carlos - I read your threads often - to see what you and Nordic and all of your friends are doing. Good Work! Making more music!! I hope that I can find a way to make a DX Amp - to little time to spare right now. But I always enjoy seeing what you are doing!! Reading your thread always makes my day a happy one!!
Best Wishes my Friend!! 😀

I am not 57 years old... i am a very powerfull 5.7 litters engine
I am a important part, a nice race car engine...vruummmm!... V8, Turbo, Supercharged, with intercooler, dual overhead camshaft, 4 valves each cilinder.... high compression ratio, super square motor, 8000 rpm, rounded top piston head (Hemi) ... pure adhrenaline man!
I am something overhauled by Foose designs... vruuummmm!
Five point seven!... zero to 100 miles an hour!
No CD player... the V8 engine is already music to my ears.
vruuhmmm,
Carlos
