Soon 🙂 I need to order another/smaller transfo. I'm embarassed to lift the hood before I tidy up.
I assume mull3t already hooked you up with the small but mighty Amveco 62043-P2S02?
Good timing - I was just surfing threads trying to track down that transfo 🙂 I remembered that Mull3t spoke highly of it.
I did indeed use the Amveco and have to give credit to jdkJake for that find.
MrR -- I think I recognize that case 😉 po1019 from eBay did a fantastic job with my case. I would buy from him again.

My Amveco just landed; can't believe how much smaller it is. Yea, he really does do nice case work. I've bought 4 from him so far for various projects. my only 'nit' would the opening being on the bottom. It's not necessary to use it that way, but if you want seamless lines...
I believe his cases are designed to be tube amps hence everything is upside down. I decided to have him do all my drilling, etc. and have him flip everything. I don't mind not having the seamless lines. It still looks good.
Yep, I think you're right. I did the same with the cases I bought from him for my DAC's (pre-drilled). For the cost - such a deal.
Need a bit of help with the Amveco. So for 115, Red+Yellow to Neutral. Just not sure about the secondaries. I'm hooking them up to the Wire PS. I have Blue, Red, Brown & Green in order. Guys?
I've never used the Amveco transformers but digikey gives this diagram on the page for the model linked referred to by jdkJake earlier

So keep the secondaries in the same order for each half of the PSU, the dot indicates the start of the winding.
IF that is the diagram that corresponds to your transformer then something like:
green-red, brown-blue
should do the trick. But your order seems different to what the diagram suggests. Is there a similar diagram stuck on the side of the transformer?

Yea, that's it. Hmmm. I have Red+Yellow to Neutral, secondaries are paired as you indicated. Does it matter the order? (greed-red vs. red-green)? Get a loud hum when I power up.
It's working. Ya know, old age sucks. I strain to see clearly and it burns me time and again. I didn't have both pins on the power connector. Thanks for your help mate.
Excellent, for convention, I normally connect the start of the primaries to the active wire of the mains.
WRT the order of the secondaries, as long as both are consistent its ok. ie if you go red-green then the other secondary should be swapped also.

I hear that!
So, what did you end up with?
I'm just wondering if these take 6 months to run in?!
I've had a relatively large and Black Gate and Polymer cap festooned PSU joined to the Bal-Bal for maybe 6 months, both powered up 24/7 with Headphones always connected. The only part that goes off is the soundcard, on all day but off most nights.
Not listened to much music since about May when the TV series ended for our summer.
Had cause to listen to some music this week as I bought and configured a laptop as a USB music and video streamer for a friend so he can get into the 21st century and put away his 1988 CD transport.
My system seemed to sound a fair bit better than last time I listened, a few months ago.
Especially in the vocals, had some Jimi Hendrix on and it was almost like he was in my room talking in front of me (I'm using cross feed courtesy of the CMedia DSP)

Hey, I finally got around to hooking my wire headphone amp up. It sound great!
I've ordered a neutrik locking headphone jack and need to wire up a power switch as well.
Thanks to Nattawa & Audio Poutine for their help.
I've got it in a large desktop case - I'll eventually add a dac to it - maybe an odac.

I'll take a few pictures, but I'll have to upload them from work. I don't have a way to extract them from the sony memory sticks.
