Not much here yet either.
This just in:
The next storm system is set to arrive on the BC South Coast overnight Wednesday. This storm will be shorter lived and less intense than the event over November 13-15, 2021. However, it will still bring moderate to heavy rain and strong winds. Additionally, freezing levels will rise above mountain tops on Thursday. This may worsen recent flooding and impact vulnerable landscapes and infrastructure.

Cal; even if only a fraction of the record setting levels of a couple of weeks ago, the accumulation on top of already supersaturated, or in some cases already devastated areas will be very worrisome. I fear for the work crews currently working heroically to repair the damaged infrastructure.
Ministry of Transportation BC has a great Instagram site that includes not only coverage of current repairs and major upgrade projects (Kickinghorse Pass, etc) but also historical photos to at least 70 years. FWIW, my late father in law and one of my brothers in law (have) worked for the Department their entire careers. One of the major projects Sue’s dad worked on the ‘80s was the Coquihalla, and Geordie’s first major project was the Sea to Sky to Whistler.

This has been on my mind as well. All I can do is cross my fingers and hope for the best. I really hope there aren't renewed stories of suffering and injuries and property damage over the coming days.chrisb said:...accumulation (Ed: of water) on top of already supersaturated, or in some cases already devastated areas will be very worrisome.
One of my friends had to evacuate last week. He lives in Yarrow, which was evacuated as it was under threat of flooding. I know they got out safely, but no word yet on whether they got back, or how he, his family, or his house fared.

Further inland they are worried about the water freezing before people's houses are water free.
At least someone is cosy and warm!
Snow on the hills overnight here, a blast of wind and snow forecast tomorrow...

First off. Hope all our Canadian friends in the path of the rain are staying safe.
I had to put the heating on last night. Not becuase we were cold, but because needed to check the kids temperature for school. We got a digital non contact thermometer over the summer. Turns out it won't work under 15C. Sigh.

First heavy snowfall here.
You've just reminded me how grumpy my Finnish friends used to be if the first snows were late 🙂

.
More yet to come; the Sumas Prairie, Abbotsford - Chilliwack, as east as Hope are still areas of concern.

While those of us in the Fraser Valley (BC) are braced for more bad weather, and maybe more bad news, it was gorgeous outdoors this afternoon.
Sunshine, blue skies, little fluffy clouds, the works. Nature showing off her beauty, in this amazingly beautiful part of the world.
It was a nice respite, though it promises to be a brief one.
In fact, I'm pondering where to park this evening, and for the next couple of days. As is typical around here, our apartment building has an underground parkade. If I park there and the flood waters arrive during the night, my car will be a submarine by the time I wake up and realize what's going on.
Of course, my wife also parks in the parkade, so if it rains enough to flood our area, we'll have two unusable cars, and no transportation at all. If our apartment is also flooded, we'll be well and truly stuck.
Maybe I should drive a couple of blocks uphill and hunt for parking on the street for the next few days. If our apartment is drowned, at least we can live in our car. 😱
Instead of buying an apartment, maybe we should have commissioned one of these: Walking House - Domus

Interesting bit. Because of the weather, there are fuel shortages. They are asking you do your part and take only 30 litres at a time. It's the honour system as they can't regulate it at the pump. Because I do a lot of driving, I also have to stop a lot. Not once have I seen the previous person having taken more than the 30 litres. I am very surprised and pleased at the same time.
I topped my wife’s Subaru coming back from a short get-away, and the pre-pay at pump defaulted to a simple option of lamas of $50 @ $1.55/liter. That made thing easy enough, but it turns out we only needed about 22 litres.
Nice to hear they can do that, but because there are essential and non essential vehicles fuelling at the same stations, that might prove a little awkward.
