Näää, det var djävligt varmt idag, fast det var lite blåsigt och i skuggan var det behagligt. Vi gjorde ... WHAT?! You don't understand Swedish???!!😕
I just wrote it was bloody hot today, but a bit windy so staying out of the sun it was pretty comfy.
We made an 8 hour trip around lake Venern to deliver an oscilloscope to a guy in Karlstad, have a picnic by the Picasso statue in Kristinehamn and an icecream in Sjöstad (by Göta canal).

Just got home from a wonderful vacation around the country.
Heard some weird noises outside just now, we got hail!😱

We have been hit with brutal temperatures, high humidity, and near zero wind for over a week. Today it hit 97F (36C), and of course I was working outside all day, and have been for the last 6 or 7 days. Now at 8:30 PM it is 92F. This is expected to continue for several more days.
Hot here too not as high as you but still hot and sticky. No rain for weeks, no irrigation, your garden is toast, seems to be the new norm, I wonder why 🙂
I rode bicycle today for 45 minutes around 1pm. It was up to 88F (31C) and getting hotter.
I need to start riding before work if it gets any hotter.
Garden is doing well. Lots of broccoli, onions, cucumbers, and Swiss chard. The jalapenos will be in soon, and the tomatoes are starting.

Here, now: Fair, 75°F 24°C, Humidity 74%, Wind Speed SE 8 mph, Barometer 30.01 in (1016.2 mb), Dewpoint 66°F (19°C), Visibility 10.00 mi
It's died down at last. As my eldest daughter used to say aged about 5 when it's windy, "it makes me feel eggy"Here in the UK we have had wind ripping at everything for close to a week.

Myself and two other volunteers were scheduled to mow the grass at the church today, about 2 acres. A few minutes after the severe heat warning came out of my phone, I got a text rescheduling until tomorrow.
The severe heat warning said to avoid being outdoors at all if possible, but especially if you were elderly..... I'm the oldest person in my group by about 10 years, and I get to operate the push mower. On an average summer day I take a bottle of Gatorade. Today I made two, and put them in the freezer.
The thermometer on my east facing front porch (shade after 9 AM) read 99 degrees at 3PM and the temp inside the garage hit 101. My wife wanted, and got a black garage door. It's made of steel and I learned a long time ago not to touch it. It also faces east but sees sun until early afternoon.

So the other day it was quite warm/hot here in central NH at my sister's cabin on a lake (we're here for a week break). That night (two nights ago) it was downright cold. the following day it was seriously rainy. Strange indeed since NH is under a drought watch from the heat and lack of rain.
We're gonna get our first tropical storm in NJ starting about an hour from now (8:55 a.m. July 10). Usually means good or overcast in western PA, OH.
good or overcast in western PA, OH.
I'm right in between western PA and OH, half a mile east of the Ohio river, just south of I-70.
Now at 10:30 AM it is cloudless, windless and HOT. I have been outside for about 2 hours, but came in to "hug the box fan" for a few minutes.
I'm supposed to begin the mowing this afternoon at 3PM when it's supposed to be 95F, but the rain chances approach 50% by 6PM. Maybe that will bring some wind and clouds.
...NH is under a drought watch from the heat and lack of rain.
Not hot for long here Downeast, but we've gotten HEAVY rain in 1-hour 3/4" bursts about twice a month since March. Half the usual average rainfall. The ground is so dry that 3/4" in an hour is not even a gully-washer, the peat/clay/duff just soaks it up. This hurricane-miss promises a similar annoying non-event.
We ran the air conditioner today, again not for heat but to pull the damp out of the house. Have to put on a warm shirt and suck down to 70 degrees to get the muggy out. I now wish I'd ducted the warm side of the outdoor unit into the house to conserve heat. (That's on top of dehumidifying the cellar.)
I am hitting 78F in the house in the late afternoon. As long as the humidity is knocked out by the AC it is good up to 80F. I need to adjust the NEST schedule.
After more than a week of 90+ F this morning it has dropped to 69 F. I like to open the windows to let the house get fresh air rather than all recirculated stuff.
We have been waking up to temps in the low to mid 80's for over a week, with the AC is already running at 6 AM. Definitely not normal, it's usually in the low to mid 60's at night. It was however 70 here at 5:45 and the windows are still open now at 7:00. I don't expect that to last though.
This morning at 5:45 the phone said 76 in town, where it topped 100 yesterday before the rain hit. It hit 96 here yesterday and 94 at the church where we were mowing, further away from town. The skies darkened and the temp dropped about 15 degrees in 10 minutes as we were finishing up, then the high winds and serious rain hit. My UPS delivery was cancelled. "Unable to deliver due to severe weather."

Summers could become 'too hot for humans' - BBC News
"Millions of people around the world could be exposed to dangerous levels of heat stress as temperatures rise.
Many live in developing countries, and do jobs that expose them to potentially life threatening conditions.
These include being out in the open on farms and building sites or indoors in factories and hospitals.
Climate scientists say global warming will increase the chances of summertime conditions that may be literally "too hot for humans" to work in."
....the conclusion must be that our DNA will adapt to these higher temperatures, or that those people who's DNA is already better adapted will have an advantage etc. so in the end, global warming will drive our evolution
