It’s not a good idea to shave dogs. It messes up their coat and can actually make them hotter and at risk for sunburn.
Not to mention the shame factor! 😀

The problem of living on the Westcoast is ... RAIN. Today its 10+ C and rain again.Magnus, not to worry, Vancouver has summer from July 15 to August 30. Beyond that it's open season on the weather. Not saying we don't get rain during that time, just saying that's our best chance of a spell of good weather.
EDIT: looks like you're going to have a very nice weekend. Highs of 24º and broken cloud. Get out and have fun my friend.
But I am sort of wrestling with my PC ...

It's about 34C here today, and my home office is upstairs. I can either open the windows and hope for a slight, but hot, breeze, or keep everything closed and slowly suffocate. We're just not used to >30C around here.

Especially any of the spitz breeds, like the one in my avatar. Occasional bathing helps to release the undercoat in the hotter months.

It's just after sunrise and 82 F / 28 C here in Stockton, CA right now. The forecast is for high temperatures of 100° to 108° F (38° - 42° C) for the next ten days. CA's grid is running out of power. The news said that the spot price for power hit $1.00/kwh. There have been rolling blackouts over the last two days. Our power was off for two hours around dinner time last night. And that was a Saturday, mid-week should get even worse.
As much as I hate spending so much time and cash on pool maintenance, I'm glad we have one this week!

Well we're not quite that high but it is sweltering by our standards. It's officially 30º, it's 36º on my balcony and we just got in from a nice forest walk in Green Timbers park. It was pretty eerie though. There is a fishing lake, a large picnic area and kms of walking trails.
We felt lonely. Normally this place is busy. Today I heard my voice echo. No fisherpersons, and the only picnickers were under the only three shade trees, that's it. Parking lot was near empty. My dog protested about 1/2 way through the walk. I mentioned I had water in the car and he picked up the pace right quick. 🙂

Is yours a Mittel Spitz Jeff?
Japanese Shiba Inu. That's Kimiko in my avatar. She's almost 15 years old, and getting quite decrepit. Ringo is only 2. He's from the same breeder here on the Island. Here's a pic:

5c this morning.
Perhaps it's getting too cold for my new grapevines to produce any fruit this year.
There's a few grapes on there, strongly doubt they will have enough time to ripen.
A lot of tomatoes on my two plants, very good size, but also very green.

Our weather did a complete turnaround here over the past few days. From 35-38C last week, down to around 24-25C this week. Mornings are much colder now. Before they were around 18C, but early this morning it was 8C.
I am getting in the mood to go look for a buck.

Well it's not cold today, it's actually starting to warm up as there is less wildfire smoke in the sky and we can see more than a km. We had a bit of rain here and there and now my Edge looks like it has the Pox from the small number of drops and the fire ash.
We dropped to the 50s F today! Coldest it has been in a while. Glad to hear smoke is better. We had a smokey sunset yesterday from the fires thousands of miles away.
1C this morning said mrs K who takes a morning walk before breakfast every day.
I biked to my (ex-)job to get som hints on cars and by then it was 10C and I was freezing like a dog.

We dropped from the mid 80s a few days ago to the mid 60s. Possible frost at higher elevations in the next week. Low in the 40s at my elevation (1000ft.)
Not sure if it's the smoke keeping the heat in or WHY but it's 18º at 7:30 this morning. Not often that happens mid-Sept in the great white north.
