The Weather

because you can ask another person from Columbia/Colombia and you'll get two different answers

I grew up in Miami Florida.....we only had one kind of snow. It was the kind that the "Cocaine Cowboys" and the DEA fought each other over, with machine guns in the streets of south Dade.....including the mall where I took guitar lessons. I had already left Miami when the street shooting started. I could ride my bike to this mall.

That's because Jou'all talk strange overthere, Bob.

The Doors...Jim Morrison. ...We all unique people...every single one of us.
* That 1998 Quebec Ice Storm put a lot of people in misery...many died too...and others took opportunity from this natural devastation...the industrial human disease.

Yes, I saw many documentaries...the 70s from the Florida keys.
Pablo Escobar was also directly related with some of these Florida folks...coke transporters (planes). What's his name again...portrayed by Johnny Depp in the film 'Blow'? ...Guy's spent twenty years in jail and is free (s)now.

My mum was there last year...in Florida...she's from Montreal...and like many Quebeckers (French people) she's a "snow" bird type...occasionally...and she likes cruises to (cruise ship, not Penelope Cruz from 'Blow').

♦ Nice day today here; 17° and sitting outside (I'm always outside).
I never watch TV, don't have cable and don't want it...never know the forecast...only from smelling the air and listening to the birds...it supposed to be sunny all week...it smells like it and they say to me...the birds...the snow birds...the snow ain't coming either...and no ice...and no coca leaves.

It's a beautiful day...green trees of all varieties, autumn colors, ...I feel comfortably numb...@ peace with all my surroundings...and I am building a stronger me...one day @ a time...with no other goal than to live free and in peace. The weather here does that to me...I cannot bifurcate from it...it simply won't let me.

We've had so little rain in SE Scotland that the salmon are not entering the river.....and the sea just beyond the river mouth has an immense population of (now very obese) grey seals!

Grey seals are now protected and the salmon stocks are becoming scarce. On the West Coast of Scotland salmon farming is polluting the whole eco-system whilst the attendant sea-lice are destroying the natural smolts as they attempt to leave the coast to feed in the Atlantic. All so that carcinogenic 'salmon' can grace the supermarket shelves!

Nevermind what Boston got....that was evil!

Boston , HAH !

Albany NY gets 100+ " every other couple years , and the
Catskill foothills (Heldeburgs) 150".
Eastern slopes of the Catskill's can get @ 200".

I left NY 2 years ago - sick of all that !!

I would not want to live in the western Adirondacks , Olympic mnts.
or western slopes of Rainier (washington state) ... they belong to the 400" "club" !!

A long time ago I walked up a Swiss mountain top (+3000m), dressed in a T-shirt and jeans.
Halfway up the no-trail, I was up till my armpits in snow.
When I got to the cable-car station near the top, I had 20lb of lumbed ice on each leg, jeans no good for snow.
Close call, plus still had to pay the full up-and-down fare ticket, Bankers !
No more snow for me.

I do believe I don't quite fit in with the RR crowd in Crans Montana.
I have all my toes, Reinhold Messner has none (I climbed a little, or too much, not sure)

(Züg was more fiscal fun, the lake there is very tranquil. And Lausanne, Oh La La. And Franco Sbarro, 747 wheels, ach mein Gott)

I can fit in with most crowds, but some things will never change.

3rd picture......I got the secret plans for Marty's guitar amp from Doc Brown, and borrowed the Flux Capacitor that powers it......the build up is on my bucket list.

Jacco, we have very nice places around here, but if we go up to 3'000m, we middle aged swiss cheeseguys look very careful the weather forecast and prepare us well, except in July , there is extrem low risk for snow up to 4'000m.
And of course we use the cablecar , altough we get ripped off therefore.
Mount Säntis Ticket is 58 bucks now, the Mount Jungfrau more than 200.-

Sbarro you mean the carmaker? Its more than 10 years i heard this name last time, in the meantime we see here lots of funcars like Ferrari, Porsche and whatever.

And every housewife around here has a 4wheel drive whenever possible, they have to bring their kids at scool( 500m Distance, height difference 20m) with the car, since the kids forgot how to walk or climb and are in heavy use of their mobiles to communicate with their neighbour at the scooldesk.

we...cheeseguys

I beg your pardon ? Stealing my IP, how dare you !

I'm more a lot of little and less of sensible.
Cable-cars and goretex are not much of a challenge appeal

(but hey, I can do 20-25 mph on an iced loipe track and shoot through apples with a 70lb compound-Tell)

Sbarro Monster, 4x4 with modified Boeing 747 wheels, saw it at the I-shop (grand-son, 50 mile drive from Crans)
