Starting to see some pavement where the ice has melted, but a lot of sidewalks are still covered in slick ice, not featuring ankle-deep puddles (which freeze overnight).
I am heading down to New England this weekend, I gather there may be some snow.

Well it is once again snowing in Boston, after a week of melting more or less (about half the mess remains on average) we're currently getting better than an inch an hour.. I expect the commute tomorrow will be messy, but it is supposed to be warm enough to melt it all.
The sun was shining on Scotland again today, thats 3 days in a row! It feels like we all won a lottery or something.
The first day of spring starts in a few hours today. Its SO welcome after this long cold winter.
thanks to an undulating atmospheric river / pineapple express, we're once again living up to our nick-name "the Wet Coast"
sure, you don't have to shovel it, but too much in a short period of time ain't no picnic

Beauty day, high of 10C, sunny with a cool breeze.
Damn rabbit was feasting all winter on my small cedar trees, turds and branches as evidence. He/she is going to go bye bye and take a ride down the road ASAP.

Something or other always manages to inflict damage to my saplings before they have a fair chance to get going. Then they grow out with defects like odd ball looking limbs. If you stew the little butterball it wont be a total loss.
At least around our place, the bobcats keep the rabbits under control. Alas, the deer are too big for them, and deer will eat anything.
WTF, It's been nice but somewhat cool all day today. I have been moving stuff in a T shirt and flip flops. At about 9 PM I noticed that the air seemed a bit cooler. After boxing up some stuff, I just took it out to the car (11 PM).....which has two inches of snow on it. Where did that come from.

Its the coldest spring but at least were not getting any snow, unlike the eastern seaboard LOL wow I feel for you I really do 😛
depends which side of the divide you're on, I guess -
Pick any of the past several months, we've been well above historical mean average - some days by as much as 5C - the winter of '96 is certainly wasn't

Just got my power bill and it was up 15% from the month before.
I have a tray of seedlings going for the garden. Tomatoes are coming up, but the peppers have not poked through yet.
Onions, Broccoli, Cabbage and Kale are already in the garden and growing.
Saturday there is a chance for snow! EEK!
