One more go!
Same again....the blue loading bar in Safari sticks near the beginning for about 30sec and then races to "upload failed" info as pasted above. Is the attempt actually reaching it's destination??
Thanks anyway Cal.🙂

Local News paste:
More than 80 flood warnings and alerts are in place in Scotland, and some main roads closed due to landslides and flooding
More than 190 homes in North Yorkshire have been left with without electricity
Properties in Hawick, in the Scottish Borders, have been evacuated over concerns about the River Teviot
The postponement of several Scottish sports fixtures
In north Wales, two people have been rescued from their cars and 700 homes remain without power
In counties Down and Tyrone, in Northern Ireland, roads were closed due to fallen trees
About 2,000 people in the Republic of Ireland are without power.
Up to 60mm to 100mm is likely in areas with amber warnings, with some mountainous areas seeing in excess of 150mm over a 30-hour period.
The main impact of the storm will cease by Sunday morning, but forecasters say flood warnings could remain in place due to high river levels. Thats us folks
Is the hill we live on high enough.....fortunately yes.
A lot of the low laying land has been excessively drained for growing potatoes. In summer droughts the farms pump water from the rivers to the fields, and in heavy rainfall times the soil erosion linked to flooding lowers their fields. The sad fact is that we cannot mess around with our environment.....and it is high time we had learnt that lesson. [We also get a lot of severe winds which lead to further erosion.]

The Next Big UK Flood: Britain Under Water
The Next Big UK Flood: Britain Under Water | Gresham College
Overview
What are the odds that events will conspire to put London under water during the next few years? Are the catastrophic Summer 2007 floods in the English Midlands and the recent events of southeast England harbingers of worse to come, particularly as the climate shifts?
Serious flooding poses major challenges to the UK's security, despite changes in the way we try to manage both water and damage.
The lecture will review the UK's recent experiences and explore how management and infrastructural improvements are being attempted. Can science, technology and collaboration reduce our vulnerability to floods?

levels around here
By sheer coincidence, I know just the thing for you.
Despite the fact we are about 70' above normal river level I did take that precaution when I had the dyke built around the house. I'll give you a call if I need a Little Dutch boy!😛
El nino and NAO inversion. We knew 'something' was going to happen over the winter! Still expecting 3 ft of snow at some point in january.
North Atlantic Oscillation is provably linked to the time of year when Salmon run to spawn. [I have been heavily involved in the production of a mammoth book which includes information on this factor.
[I can't at present manage to get downloads to stick on this site, but this is a review of the book!!! (I did 95% of the photographic and pre-production work

All the predictions were that something non-linear was going to happen in UK this winter! The floods a couple of years ago along the thames were considered to be about 1 in 250 years level, which of course means the next one will come within a decade 🙂
I certainly would not have a hard time believing fish have a better grasp of weather patterns than we do!

Early fifties footage from that lecture can really give perspective.
Surprised we haven't heard from Bob today
Sunny and 20º I'm guessing.
Surprised we haven't heard from Bob today - bit stormy on the wet coast this weekend
Tell me about it! I lost my couch, my chair, and my parasol! Totally destroyed by the winds and the rain. They were outside on my deck. This morning I heard a bang in the window. I got up and went outside completely nude! The parasol hit the window but did not brake it, ouf!
But it was too late for my fancy furniture (couch, chair, and that vintage parasol, all stuff that had a long and lovely history), all gone now, pouf! Totally destroyed by the strong winds and the rain. Came back inside my nude body completely wet and my long hair heavy wet.
But I'm reading here that across the sea, in Europe, some countries have it real hard.
This is December 2015 (the fifth), and Christmas is coming, but not before hell.
Get ready, attach your roof solidly to your house, and elevate the foundations before the next hurricane. It's going to be more than stormy, hell is on its way, and with it all that anger from nature that can't no longer support all man's mistakes and bad deeds. /// You think?
Sunny and 20º I'm guessing.
Today was very windy, very wet, and 8° Celsius. ...So still relatively warm, but not a single opening in the sky to let the sun through. And I did not spend much time outside, perhaps less than one hour all together (usually I spend all day outside).
But now for next year I'm going to refurnish my deck with a new couch, chair and parasol. The emotional impact, that I cannot replace. C'est la vie, and it's good to be alive and to have good friends. There was a hummingbird today with his bud, and he was shaking live a leaf on that shaky branch. You should have seen that...that little fellow took it like a man!

I feel your grief, Bob.
(continue that hairy body talk, and I'll PM you a request to exchange images/drool)
Didn't Ireland have 100mph winds last week? They had to close some of the scenic spots on the west.
